Which hydraulic coupler do I need

If you have a local place that makes hydraulic hoses check with them and take your photos and measurements.

Hi Ken,

I can't really tell from the photo how this was set up but if you try a 6404-08-08 FOR to MP adapter, you should be able to connect your MOR fitting to a quick coupler with no problems. This adapter converts with no swivel. I'm not sure what the Parker number is. The part numbers I use are from Tompkins which are recognized over most of the industry.

I may try this after my newest fix.... I stopped back at the Parker store(met another great employee) and I showed him my part. He stated the swivel is NIJ and torquing it down like a npt is not permitted as it will ruin the flange

Dope fully this is true Nd the fix works! If now, a new adapter will be coming

Ok, well this was a crock of crap. Still leaks under the new fittings (which were the spin fittings). So I called them and hopefully this coming week I'll get a straight adapter and not a fancy spinning couple.... SMH!!!

Ken,

I am not familiar with that acronym. If you could elaborate I would appreciate it. Sorry to hear your fix didn't take.

Never heard of NIJ either.

From the pic you posted, it looks like a Female JIC to NPT adapter.

JIC and ORB threads are the same. Same dimensional specs and one will thread into the other. However the seal is different. The ORB male threads dont have the 37 degree seat and arent normally long enough to tighten up the swivel anyway. And the way it looks like the o-ring is bulging out, it looks like you have a JIC fitting, That bottomed out on the o-ring, but is incapable of sealing at the swivel.

With a JIC swivel fitting, once tight, it should no longer swivel. The joint where it was leaking at the swivel, was it still loose and free to spin?

Yes, lose and free to spin

Yep. You likely put a JIC female on that ORB hose.

Not saying they don't make one, but I have never seen a swivel female ORB fitting.

But you can get one that swicela on the npt side

Ugh, you sound absolutely correct. I hope to get to the bottom of this later today.

I've learned a lot but I still have a long way to go. The good part is, I keep adding layers of knowledge to my onion
