Which one to buy?

The Bransons are good sturdy tractors. I have a 3520, which I really like, but that price for a 3510 seems a little much. I may be wrong, but I would price that combo at a couple of other dealers, just to be sure.

I'm also in WA. I also have three acres of land with blackberries, salal and lots of trees. I have cleared all the brush and pulled many stumps with my bx23. For me the size of the bx is perfect. there are some pictures on the link next to my signiature that show what I have done with it. What part of WA are you in? If you are close enouggh, I could let you demo the bx at my place to get a feel of what size of machine you will need for your situation. Good luck on your search and purchase.

OK I did miss that, but I'm not so sure what my opinion is now. If he has only 3 acres, and if he doubles his property, then my answer still is valid. If he TRIPLES his property size to 9 or 10 acres, then I would say my answer is going to be on the slighly small side, but still valid. If he goes much bigger than that, then I'd opt for a roughly a 30hp machine. At that point (roughly 10+ acres), the JD and the Kubota that he chose would still fit in. The Branson is 35hp and roughly double the weight of the Kubota B7800, I think that is pretty large for machine that will spend the first few years of its life on 3 acres and may, or may not ever get onto enough property to actually work that thing the way it could be worked. Further, I think it would make a lousy lawn mower for 10 acres, but the B7800 would at that point excel at lawn mowing duties when the real projects are done.
I guess, even though I missed the fact that he wants more land in the future, I still question the size of the tractor. I think a lot of people buy too big and end up spending more money than they really need to spend. Your CK20 is a prime example of how much work a small tractor can accomplish. I think Henro is another example of how much can be accomplished with the B2910 (deluxe version of the B7800) and that is still a pretty small tractor.

Ok. I have been looking around for kioti dealer, but the nearest one seems to be about 5 hrs away in another state, so that tractor is out.. a friend of mine let me try out his k7800 with the 3pt backhoe setup, seems pretty nice to use but I think I need to get the woods backhoe with the subframe unit, not the kubota brand. sounds like this is the tractor I'm going to get.. thanks,, any other words of wisdom is always accepted and appreciated... thanks Tracer

My wife just surprised me this week with a Kubota L3400 with FEL, 72" RFM, R4s and gear transmission at 0% for 36 months -- she was sick of my telling her how great it was...
I tried the HST transmissions...seemed to use up some hp on these smaller units. I found many gear transmissions to be slow, clunky, and generally a pain to use. The Kubota has the nicest gear trans I have ever driven (grew up on gear trans tractors). I was very surprised -- from this forum, I had expected that the HST was the only thing to have these days. It also like the fact that the tires just spin instead of the engine bogging down when I overload the tractor. I am not used to HST and many say that once you are, you will love the HST. The dealer said that many guys still enjoy the gear transmissions -- they are nothing like the ancient ones you may have driven.
The CK30 was priced higher for less hp than the Kubota here!! Hands down, the L3400 was a better put together machine than the CK30 with shuttle transmission. The HST model seemed a great deal less powerful than either the CK30 gear and most definitely than the L3400.
The red and blues couldn't compare on features, power, and price.
I would carefully consider the R4s. They look the best and I chose them for all round performance, longevity and stability. They DO NOT have the traction I was expecting. I will be purchasing chains in the very near future for the icy hills on my place.
I would say get the most hp for your budget with the fewest frills -- but that's just me. Obviously, there is such a thing as too big to manouver. I don't think this is really an issue in the mid 30 hp range and smaller. Others may disagree.
Get one soon. You will love whatever you get!! Best toy I have ever stolen.

OK... its a done deal for me, went out and bought the JD 4310, with fel,backhoe-2 buckets, 18" and 9", also box blade.. whewwww.. wife talked me into it without twisting the arm...get it next week, can't wait... I got lots of work for it, sold the o'l massey TO-35 diesel deluxe and bought a 18' 10k trailer today, BUT, stopped and loaded 2'5 ton hay on it on the way home,, back a little sore. BUT THE WIFE LOVES ME.... when I get pics I'll try and get them out.. really appreciate all the help you guys gave me.. I know some of you think I might be going to big, but I like to be a little big than too small.. Thanks Tracer

What tractor did you price that cost $10K more? I paid less than $16K for my 4310 eHydro. Where, oh where can I find a CK30 HST for only $6000 new?
Furthermore, Has Kioti changed its policy and started listing any pricing on the net? When I was looking, I looked long and hard for Kioti pricing. Couldn't find it at that time.

I'm guessing here, but I imagine he meant between apples and oranges, not comparables.

No, you didn't miss anything. I just wonder why so many manufacturers don't put pricing online. (Even if it is MSRP) I think I'll start a thread about this. Who knows, maybe someone at one of these corporations just might get wind and change a policy...Kyle
