Which roller BX2350

The 2 acre lawn part of my yard is full of lumps & bumps, so much so that driving my BX or my Z122 mower is like riding a bucking bronco. I thought of rotavating it level and re-planting grass but the problem of the bumps is likely to return. My other thought is to buy a roller to flatten some of the bumps when the ground is wet, so I'm asking what size & weight of roller would suit the BX2350, hopefully at least 4 feet wide. My yard is very gently sloping.

It’s not just the width but the diameter. I have a cheap plastic one and it’s a little too small. Kind of guessing as I looked at a few on line but mine is probably 36” wide by a diameter of 18”. You probably want a bigger one.

I would say at a minimum the roller should be at least 4 ft wide and around 900 - 1000 lbs. depending if on height of bumps and type of soil it may not help much. Heavier is better

Depending on the size of your lawn, you might want to look into either renting a vibrating roller or hiring a lawn equipment guy that has one to try and flatten it out for you. I doubt anything you are going to tow behind your BX will do the job. I have a 5 ft long x 18 inch diameter roller, full of water, and it flattens the grass, but doesn,t really do much to flatten the soil.

Get someone who CAN do it and make it their job. I went to the trouble of bringing this DIY roller from work a few years ago to do my yard. It's 6-1/2' wide and made of concrete-filled 24" diameter SCH40 steel pipe. Although it was early in the Spring (before the ground dried out) my yard laughed at it.

Lawn rollers are for pressing seed into tilled soil. They will do little to flatten worm mounds and bumps in an established lawn.

Your foot will put an imprint into wet soil that a roller can not erase.
