Which tow vehicle to buy?

I bet you're sorry you brought this up in the first place. Congratulations and good luck on your pick-up. You're right on about the warranty and you havn't eaten the first year depreciation either.

I believe that the smaller bore of the V-10 (in simple terms even I can understand) made it easier to smog than the big bore short stroke V-8's because it certainly wasn't cheaper to build a 10 over an 8. Besides, the 10's don't have that V-8 sound.

Glad you made a choice you are happy with. 16mpg is more than my 5.4 has ever got. The srw f250 is alot nicer to drive around empty than a dually and it will tow fine. Good to know you are happy with the power and warranty. Hope it does everything you need for as long as you need it.

This thread has gotten way off topic. I picked up an 04 250 PSD. I love it, and the more I heard folks talk about the 6.0 the more I realized that the people doing all the crying weren't even owners. Lets be honest how can you really go wrong. You get a 100k warranty on the engine and tranny and the truck handles pretty good for a heavy duty truck. I tested ford,gm and dodge and found none were 100% perfect. But the truck I ended up with is the best of both worlds tons of towing power in a truck I can drive to work. And I'm already getting 16mpg so that's an inprovement over the 150 5.4.
In a few years I'll trade in this one and go through it all again. Thanks for all the relevant input.

Congrats... Sorry this thing got out of line, but you did get alot of info.... If you have any questions about the operation or things you shoulc do, feel free to PM me, I've worked REALLY close with these engines over the past couple of years...For the fuel economy, I would recomend you try a dose of Motorcraft cetane booster from your local dealer.. Its only about $7 bottle and just might pay for itself.. The bottle treats about 3 tanks.. Enjoy..

Congrats on the diesel. I just bought my first one and LOVE it.

As far as people crying but not owning the 6.0PSD, do a google search for recalls or something similiar. The early 6.0 really had it's problems.
