Which type, then brand of framing nailer?

I have a Duo-fast that I bought back in 1992. Darn thing weighs about 15 or 16 pounds but still, at the end of the day, my arm feels better than swinging a hammer. Good thing I don't do either for a living. I had a contractor doing some barn work for me about six years ago so memory fails a bit. He had gone out and bought two new Paslode framing nailers. I can recall that at the time I was not overly impressed watching the workers use them as opposed to what I know that my Duo-fast could do. I suppose when you would be working up high getting something started the air less would be okay but other than that, dragging an air hose around would be my choice.

Most of they guys I see using Paslode airless are wood fence guys. Mostly with clipped head nails, which are pretty much useless anywhere you have building inspections.

I also have a full round head hitachi that thing is a beast. Mine was made in Japan. The newer ones say made in china. I can't speak for their reliability

A lot of Chinese goods are OK but it depends on the brand owner's monitoring of the quality control.

I'd suggest that for A Japanese firm to monitor Chinese production and quality would be much easier that for an American firm to do so from a distance.

That's like having the Sunni monitor the Shiite.
They DON'T get along.

Hard to find clipped head Paslode anymore for exactly that reason. My suppliers quit carrying them years ago. I was pretty sure that Paslode quit making them when they switched to the offset head for the building code changes. Both types work in the same gun.

Over 400 frames in 7 years with Paslode air guns. I wish there was a pancake compressor as dependable and reliable as those guns were. In Middle TN, parts are at every shop but all I ever needed was noses and O rings. Ran 3 of them all day, everyday.

I believe you but I just wonder if I'm the only one who is shooting into drier framing cause paslode and the 20V Dewalt are working for me. Am I really the only one?
