Ar25 is probably what the rest of us call C25 (25% CO2/75% argon). $50 for a years lease on a tank? My 150cf tank cost me $150 with the first fill included. I own it forever! My last fill on that tank was $45 and that much gas lasts well over a year unless I'm doing production of something.

You should really think about buying your cylinders. I fired my last supplier who tried to get me on a service contract for tanks - by the time I need a hydro, I'd own another 330cf tank with what they wanted every year for "maintenance".

Well, got a price from site sponsor, Everlast. Also went outto local LWS and priced a Millermatic 211, $1145, Miller performance helmet, $217, 80cf tank of c25, $208 for tank and $17 for fill. That don't seem a great deal to me, almost $1600 before tax and no incentives for buying such as wire, pliers, tips, cart, nothing. So how does this deal sound? As in pervious post by Jim, filled tank for 150 sounds like great buy. Guess I will have to keep looking. hjt

I have five 80cu ft tanks (the largest I can OWN to exchange at my LWS). They were all almost $300 each. Prices and policies vary from region to region. Best to shop around.

BTW Air Liquide has bought Airgas. For better or worse.....

I've used Cyberweld.com to buy Miller welders and tanks. The 211 is currently $1095 and a full 80cf tank of c25 is about $203. Free shipping. Cyberweld is very reliable. Indiana Gas and Welding (or some such name) is also a pretty well known internet dealer.

I found 1) my LWS could give a crap about a non commercial customer and 2) they were perfectly willing to sell me gas refills and supplies even though I hadn't bought the equipment from them. LWSs are reasonably focused on their commercial accounts so I don't lose any sleep as a small fry picking and choosing to buy my equipment on the web for the best price I can get.

17 bucks for a c25 fill is pretty good depending on size. We can't get CO2 for that here!

You're putting down a wad of cash on the hardware and it'll sting a bit at first. I've long forgotten all the money I spent on my welders, and just enjoy that I can flip a switch, turn a knob, and melt metal to my hearts content.

I've got a Millermatic 175 and a Everlast I-Mig 200 and the Millermatic is much easier to use and has a much cleaner weld appearance using the same gas and wire.

I thought I would use the 110v option more as I had a little Hobart 125 handler before the Everlast that was really handy but I have found for portable work that I prefer my ESAB 161 because it is so much lighter.

Sounds like you might need to use the arc force control and dial it in more. It'll outweld the Millermatic. Plenty of people have reported to me their great experience about it the i-MIG weld quality compared to the Millermatic, and the control of the imig 200 offers.

I'm looking at the 211, but also some other less expensive Chinese welders.

Everlast needs to post a manual for the 211 and 251 on their web site.

I checked on buying my 1 AR25 146 welding gas cylinder, I know it as 75/25 welding gas, $280.00+ tax, OUCH, gas is extra (vs.) 1 year lease at $50.00. I average from 1-2 refills/year, at last refill 3 Months ago, $39.50 + $3.00 Has Mat fee +tax + coffee and donuts.
As far as I know this place is the closes one to me at an easy 25 miles away and stays open from 9-1 Sat. and that's why I've been going there for 25 years. Two other places I could check is 30 miles away, some down town driving, they'r open 9-12, might call them and see what they say, also I'll ask if they carry 95/5 welding gas, 70s6 welds better with that as does SS wire, less spatter on the matter.

Have you considered the Hobart 210MVP? You can get them for under $800 delivered to your door. Made by Miller and almost same specs as the 211.
