Who builds Cabela's brand tractors?

Who is doing the service work on the tractors Cabelas sells? Is it in house with service bays, trained staff, parts, ect , or do you take your tractor some where else?

From what I've hear, they are serviced by Cabela's staff in the same facility they use for boat repairs. That is why not all stores sell the tractors. I work down the street from the CT store's boat repair facility and occasionally see tractors heading over there from the store. Outside of that, I have no experience or knowledge of their tractors.

And what is wrong with using the same service facility, as long as their staff is trained on the product they work on?

My New Holland dealer that does CUT's and big farm tractors, also has a power sports division and sells lawn tractors. I do not consider their repair techs that repair multi hundred thousand dollar tractors any less qualified because the guy in the next bay to them is working on a snowmobile or ATV.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it I was just curious. Also I noted at the Cabelas "outpost" in Saginaw they had a tractor out front for sale. If you bought a tractor at one of their outposts do you have to take it somewhere else for service? It would be a 2 hr drive, one way, to the big Cabelas store in Dundee for service.

He never said there was anything wrong with it. He simply stated facts about where his local Cabela's services them...nothing more or less.

Considering Cabelas reputation with customer service I suspect they will take good care of their customers who buy tractors as well.

I live not far from the Cabelas headquarters and had a chance to look at their line the other day. I was impressed. If I was in the market for a tractor I would give them a look.

Their customer service has gone downhill, and now they're getting tricky about warranty terms. I bought boots they advertised as having a "lifetime warranty" thinking it was a bonus. When they started to de-laminate, I took them back, and mentioned the lifetime warranty.....the customer service representative corrected me and said "it's not your lifetime, it's the lifetime of the boot." After a bit of haggling, they agreed to credit me the last price the boots sold for after they were discontinued, which was a lot less than I paid for them. They also wouldn't simply replace them with the urgent version that was nearly identical, and had a similar price point....that's not really being honest with their terminology, or providing good customer service in my opinion.

I posted pictures and a bit of a review of the tractors when they first showed up....there were obvious servicing errors (missing lugs on the wheels), design flaws (hydro lines and metering valve terribly exposed), small rear axles, and a few other things that turned me off regardless of the price.

Yea, isn't that a little word game.

Where in my reply did I say I had an issue with that? How you extrapolated something negative out of my post is baffling.

Yep, quoting him would've made all the difference. :)

At any rate, to answer 5030's thought, it sounds like the mechanics at these facilities have undergone training to work on tractors - and they seek to hire experienced tractor mechanics as well:
