Who cares what color it is?

I agree with Norm. Any color implement is ok as long as it is red /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't really care if they match...at least to a point. Like Henro, I actually like them to be different colors. That might be because having a Kubota, you can only take so much orange! My bush hog is red and recently I repainted it red. I could have gone to orange but didn't so I guess that proves out my answer. However, I will add that if it really clashed bad (who said something about a green implement on an orange tractor?) I might have to paint it. If so, I would use red.

I guess I'm one of the odd balls, but I actually prefer my implements being a different color than the tractor

A fella who wears that outfit in your avatar, with different color implement... I can't believe it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So you've seen those PHAT rims on my ride... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My JD dealer had a heck of a time gettiing em' in.

So far I have yet to see a dealer that carries the same implement ( brand, specs, size, duty..etc ) in different color schemes. Just can't think of one....

Seem like many of the big online dealers offer those third party implements in JD green, Kubota orange, NH blue, and lots of makers Red, specifically so you can get the color you choose.

I don't care what color the implements are, I buy them to work not look pretty. The color help to identify the maker when you go to buy part. In twenty years when someone doesn't remember what brand it is, they are going to have fun if the manufacture plate is missing. A lot of times the parts guys will ask the color the help determine the origin.

I also could not care less about the color of an implement. I also do not give much thought to appearances either, see my thred on CHEAP Shade Cover /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif in build-it-yourself. I do have a thing about tractors being RED though, I just like that color on a tractor. (Although I must admit the purple LandTracs are very eyecatching!) I have two tractors & nine implements and no two are the same brand, but they all are field ready. Chet

My tractor is blue under the mud (I won't clean it until it stops raining). My rotary cutter is a Rhino, so I guess it was red, but the color was already pretty faded when I got it new, from sitting outside at the dealer - they buy them once a year. I can't remember what color my box blade is - yellow or orange, I think. I never paid much attention. When I bought my landscape rake at TSC on sale, I did make them take the second one in the row because the first one was pretty weathered - but first, I tried to get a reduced price on the weathered one. I painted my home-made root rake black to match my bucket, but I started using it before the paint hardened up, and I'm not sure what color it is now, mostly primer -- but that's OK, because most of the paint has been worn off my bucket, too, down to the primer, which is kinda reddish orange.

If all that sounds sort of apathtic, I'm like the other fellow above - everything is greased, tight and ready to operate. I do wash the bird poop off it when it occurs.

As for looking good, the way I usually look, and the clothes I wear when working, I'd look silly on a Martha Stewart coordinated tractor.

Lawman , Actually I got woods and rhino attachments . As far as I know they aren't Orange ! So my statement was in fact true /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I also Ride ... I don't have the name of my bike plastered all over my clothes , truckand other items to say ... Look at me !

Yes, I also agree that color doesn't matter too much but how many would buy a orange Kubota implement to go on a JD? or say a green something to go on a NH? etc. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

While I have no intention of repainting my Bush Hog rotary cutter, the box blade has got to be redone. For some unknown reason, Bush Hog paints the box blades yellow (and not a very good looking yellow I might add). BUT, I bought the box blade because of it's construction. The fact that I want it to repaint it Orange is just a personal preference. Right tool, right tractor, and a couple cans of paint will make me a happy camper. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Agreed. My Cub's yellow and white. My tiller's blue. My back blade is red and black. My hog is orange and my plow is reddish mud and rust.

As long as they do what I need them to do, they'll do.

I've got a JD tractor, FEL & BH. My first implement was a First Choice box blade in green and I thought that was really neat. Then I used it a couple times and got it all covered with mud and lime dust and my enthusiasm for color coordination went by the wayside. I've since bought a Woods finish mower and quite a few KK product. If that's not bad enough for the color conscious, I hooked up a bright red Speeco Quick Hitch.

I will admit to giving some thought to putting a coat of green on that red hitch just because it's sooo garish but I always seem to find something more important to do.

It's just marketing. There are some consumers who prefer the colors match and others who could care less. If you are an implement manufacturer, why not offer a color option if it helps you increase your sales. On the other hand, some implement manufacturers have a very strong brand and do not offer the color option because it would deminish their own brand identity. Also, consider that one of the fastest growing segments of the tractor market is newbies with hobby farms and weekend "estates". Many of these types look at their tractor as something of a status symbol (trophy tractor) and are very concerned about appearances. Heck, for many, my self included, it's my pride and joy...we even wash & wax the thing once in a while.

I like orange myself.. but color does have a big impact on weathering outside as far as fading and stuff i bet.

When I got my 2210 I struggled with the implement color thing, too.....thought all green would be cool but then saw prices and decided black spray paint was a better option than Deere prices. So my bush-hog brand backblade and homemade 3-pt receiver are now black....which actually kind of matches the engine/frame color on the Deere.

Did you know cheap black spray paint can be purchased for 99 cents? Complete color change for 5 bucks, such a deal.

( While I have no intention of repainting my Bush Hog rotary cutter,

Everthing is realative. My Bush Hog is 42 years old and sits in the weather. It's been redecked with 3/16" plate once and repainted red 5 times to control rust. I'll soon repaint it again, this time with Mahindra Red, to match my tractor.
