Who has Snow?

Boylerman - just a note. DO NOT be disappointed if your snowblower kind of bogs down and doesn't do as you expected/like. There is not a blower in the world that excels when the snow is wet & heavy.

We get most snow with the temps between 34F to 38F. I would not plow or blow until we had a night of 24F to 28F wx. Hardens the snow - puts a nice crust on top - the snow will blow/plow like you have imagined in your greatest dreams.

Definitely not disappointed in the new blower. I did the driveway before the sleet and rain arrived, 6 inches of snow. The blower did great. One pass down, one pass back and the driveway was done. No cleanup needed like when I plow and snow spills over to one side or the other, especially in my parking area. Driving in reverse is a little hard on the back and neck, but I will adjust. And I came in looking like the abominable snowman. Will dress like I am going skiing next time with face mask, goggles and snowpants! Someday I'll get a cab. Next on my list is either electric or hydraulic chute control. I am also adding 2 more LED lights facing backwards, installing them tomorrow.

^^^^
You also may find that mirrors help so that you aren't constantly looking backwards. Not my idea, but it's what a friend suggested when I said that's why I won't have a 3 pth blower.

We finally got a little snow. 3-4" today. Drifting around to about a foot in places with the wind piling it up here and there.

Boylerman - regarding the electric chute rotation - - remember what Murphy says - - "no matter which way the chute points, snow will always drift back on the operator". God bless Murphy.

For you all that don't like the snow and cold, send it to me. I absolutely love winter. No bugs, no snakes.

We go over 8 inches Thursday night. 1000's of cars stuck.. Crazy drivers. One coworker who usually takes 45 minutes to get home took 7 hours.
Happened right during rush hour, over 2 inches per hour

That's what cabs are for

Its been over ten years since I've used a blower on my mile long gravel driveway. My M6040 and heavy duty rear blade are more than enough to clear any berms that may form.

It weighs 10,100 pounds and does not get knocked off course when plowing berms. I enjoy plowing snow - when I had the Ford 1700 and needed the 3-point blower or now with the Kubota.

However - I will admit - there were times I wished for a cab. A particularly heavy snow and the weight causes the young pines to lean in along the driveway. As you plow past - each one will dump its load of snow right in your lap. On a mile long driveway there are hundreds like this.

I would clamp a 2x4 vertically on the edge of the bucket - raise it up just right - the 2x4 would hit the snow laden trees and they would dump out front there - about six to eight feet prior to the operator station - my lap. It sure worked better than trying to drive and dodge tons of falling snow.

We're with you man! We cross country ski and if we wanted to see brown winters, we'd not have moved to the south side of da BIG lake. Love the stuff.
