Who has Snow?

Our weather guessers aren't doing very well this season. The lake effect snow we got on Tuesday was forecast to be <1" but we ended up with 4.5". The area wide snow last night was forecast to be about 6" but we actually got 14.5" of heavy wet snow.

Had a dusting yesterday. Problem wasn’t the snow it was the 1/8” of freezing rain we had under it. Ground not frozen so road where fine except bridges.

2 snow days for wife and kids. Ice had branches hanging so low busses couldn’t make routes. Probably half of our leaves are still on. Some still green. Almost 70 today.

We got just over a foot last night. Went out and started blowing and plowing from 6 - 10:30AM. I came in for coffee and neighbor came over. He tried plowing a path behind his house and got too close to the bank dropoff. Tractor slid down hill about 15' and is on an angle. Couldn't get it restarted, I suspect due to the steep angle and I couldn't pull a dead tractor back uphill with all the snow. He need larger equipment to pull him back so we called another neighbor with a large backhoe. He'll come later this afternoon and give it a shot. I'll bet my 1st neighbor had to change his pants and of course he left his ROPS folded down too.

Not a lot here, but it won't warm up and melt either.

Curious, the Soy Beans have not been taken off our place. It's just been too wet. How late can they do that if the snow melts, or it pretty much a bust?

I don't know about up in your area but down here we have gotten so much fall rain that the ones didn't get combined early are starting to mold in the field and now we got 6-8 inches of snow on them I don't know if they will even waste the time and fuel if the snow melts to try and harvest them.

And in the who has snow had about 6 inches just finished plowing driveway, had tons of leaves in the driveway and they keep it from freezing up so real slow going today, over two hours for a 1/4 mile with 8 and 9 foot blades. :irked:

What little I got over the last couple of days is all gone thanks to 50s and full Sun. May I never see another flake this winter. Or ever.

Same here. It's depressing, not that I dislike winter, just not so soon. Surprised to see Ice on the pond.

Supposed to be -9c tonight.

Yeah, it even turned cold down here in "pineapple land". Might be a hard winter this time. Not much fall, kinda went from hot to cold pretty quick.

bet my 1st neighbor had to change his pants and of course he left his ROPS folded down too.

One should always leave the ROPS folded down. Those things are just useless. I mean after all, who doesn't want to get squished by a tractor?
