Mounted where they are, the rear lights throw a nice area of bright light all around the blower. They are also handy for the RFM in summer. It was more difficult to find a good place to mount the front-facing lights. On the previous tractor I made simple L brackets to attach the lights to the FEL frame. That worked well on the B7500 but most of the frame for the FEL on the L3200 comes off with the loader. My first attempt was to mount them on the ROPS.

Having the lights slightly above and behind me head caused two problems. I wear glasses and they created a glare - especially when there was dust on my lenses. The second problem was they attracted bugs. With my gourd between two bright lights on a warm summer night, mowing was less fun. After building the cab the lights have been on the front and just below the roof. Much better. Most of the bugs spend their time on the other side of the windshield even with the doors removed.

Interesting point on the forward facing lights. I have considered mounting some to the loader arms

I got my blower a few years ago, I think the first 2 years I put about 6 hours on the tractor using the blower, This year I have put 20 hours on it and winter is not over yet.
I have a plow on my truck as a backup but I rather use the blower and get ride of the snow. As of now the snow is as tall as my plow blade on the sides of my driveway.

We switched to a blower years ago on the old JD. With a long driveway and lots of deep drifting there really isn't a better way unless you can figure a cost effective way to install a driveway defroster so the snow melts on contact or make your driveway underground as the wife laughingly suggested once when we had 6 ft snow drifts after a deep snow. The first purchase on my list for the New DK was the New snow blower for it as being without the blower can be a painfull thing if the deep snow and winds hit. It also does a good job with the light snow as well it just dosnt blow it as far when you don't feed it much but it still gets the driveway done fast.

My opinion for the best set up would be a rear mount blower and having a quick disconnect bucket and a plow for the front but if I had to go outside and deal with the snow and could only have one attachment on the machine at a time the Blower would be there 99% of the time.

So Yes I am happy we went with a snow blower not just this year but for many years now.

Yup. Love that blower. (Rear). Only problem is, the blower is 51" and the BX25 is 48" BUT I put 2" spacers on the rear wheels in order to have enough clearance for the chains, so the rear of the tractor os now 52"!

I sure am. Ditched the plow and and am having a blast hammering on all the snow we've gotten. Ordered edge tamers for the bucket this weekend too. We get drifted in like crazy so the blower saves the day!

rage, first time I've seen the edge tamers. Please let us know how they work. The concept looks like they should be great for grass and gravel.

I suppose most of you are talking about larger, tractor mounted snowblowers, but here's my contribution anyway. My Ferguson TO-35 blew a head gasket three years ago, and for various reasons I haven't fixed it yet. I have a 5 foot rear mounted 3 pt. hitch blade for it, and I plowed my 400 foot long driveway with it for 37 years . So that I'd have something to move snow , I bought a 24 inch wide walk behind snowblower . Frankly, I don't miss the tractor blade. I've only used the snowblower in 9 inch deep snow so far ( with maybe some 10 or 12 inch drifts) but it works nicely, gets into small spaces, and saves me a lot of shovel work doing places that the tractor didn't fit. Maybe this summer I'll get the Ferguson going, but I'll still use both machines for moving snow. My driveway is about 18 inches below the surrounding ground level, and I always had trouble getting the snow up and over that rise with the blade. The snowblower throws the snow up there easily.
