Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

Yea, I’m afraid to heat with wood in my shop for that reason. The propane and electric combination, plus som decent insulation, work pretty well out there.

My insurance company was also concerned about my wood stove when we purchase property in Wisconsin. We provided pictures and documentation showing the stove was installed by a licensed professional so they were satisfied. You would think though in Northern Wisconsin if you refused to cover wood stoves and fireplaces it would be hard to sell home insurance.

I think their biggest concern is an ignition source in an area known to have combustible materials storage. Propane heaters are usually up 10’+ in the air so dont cause a problem.

that being said, i had my heater on yesterday to warm it up prior to installing all winter gear and chains on the tractor. Since it was warm, i repainted the garage handrail i removed while refinishing the stairs in garage.

it is nice to have a warm shop when its snowing outside

A friend dropped by to help me put on chains, hydraulic power pack and hoses on tractor. I tried plowing without counterweight ( hyd powerpack) and chains….what a pain. Sliding all over the place.

Got 6-8 inches here (Just south of Sandpoint). I used the blower for most of it, but tried out the new plow as well. As you noted, I wanted to clear things out before the rain comes for the rest of the week.

Despite walking over every inch of the driveway, marking areas I want to avoid with the plow, etc, I still managed to find an errant cast hose sprayer with the blower and sheared off the pin!

We've had 3 snowfalls so far. The first was a week or so ago and just a couple of inches. That melted and between yesterday and today we've bot about 7" or 8" so far. Supposed to start raining tomorrow so I plowed today. The ground wasn't frozen yet so I used the rear blade with a section of pipe on the cutting edge. This is the first time I tried that and it worked great. After the ground freezes I will use the front mounted plow and inverted blower to look after things.

Weather forecast has been for no more than 2" total snowfall and we got more Than that yesterday and again today. Not looking forward to the rain, that will turn everything to mush including the driveway under the snow.

6 1/2" heavy wet snow just like cement,pickup with plow was no go but rear blade ...had to be extra careful ground wasn't frozen yet.
