Fuel dilution was right at 1%.

It's a lube oil thread. One of the top three biggest wastes of bandwidth on the internet. Nobody convinces anyone of anything. And I don't know why I am involved. I really don't care what anyone else uses, and don't plan on changing my mind about what I use.

store brand syn or dino?

I swapped my lawnmower oil to a house brand syn when I got my new rider after retring my 17yr old murray.

I've run it 2 seasons now I ran supertech one year and whatever autozones brand syn oil is for a year.

Big investment.. $ 7$ of oil.

Anyway. I was surprised to see brand near oil at the end of the season each time. I half expected to see fuel dilution.. guess mtd finally has a good carb.

back when I was buying oil by the quart from napa and car quest ( admitedly, it's been a while. probably 5+ years ).. looking at the botteling address on the cq, napa, and valvoline oils and you'd think it was the same package.

Finally found the old thread on the bob is the oil guy site where I found that info.. looks like it was vintage 2005! man how time flies!

Howdy guys,aczlan is correct!

About 4 years ago,Carquest switched from Ashland to Warren for their private brand oils.
Warren has supplied the ATF and hydraulic oil and gear lubes for decades.

About 2 years ago,Carquest changed suppliers to Amalie for the house brand.
They still supply some Warren products.

Soundguy-yes Ashland produces Valvoline products.
Ashland also provides their generic house brand oil for NAPA,Parts Plus,Partsmaster,and others.

It is my understanding that the Valvoline white bottle is not the same formula.

I have used whatever oil we are selling in the company vehicle I drive and have noticed no difference in oil performance or useage!

When I got my nh 7610s tractor I put warren ( tsc ) utf fluid in it and ran it for years. I only ever used 1 remote, found out years later the 2nd remote had a bad pilot, factory defect never caught.

whent he NH service tech had the system apart to repalce and pressure test, he said the rest of the system was fine..

I'd also guess they don't have any real skin in the game. Don't own refineries, doing drill, don't frack, no R&D.

But who every they buy from is passing those costs on for those things when they sell the oil to Warren. It would not make business sense to do otherwise.
