Loader Who removes their FEL?

It makes it hard to convince the Chief Financial Officer you need TWO tractors when she knows the loader comes off the one you already have.:D

Best one so far!:thumbsup:I have taken mine off 2 times in 160 hrs(9 mos) and always end up needing it. Plan on leaving it on and shopping for another tractor with loader.:D You see, I am so jealous of you guys that got cabs and heat and air, that I'll have to go the cab route. If you got a cab, gotta have the loader. Am I right?:D

ON mostly.
Lawn mowers are for mowing "Lawns".
Tractors are utilitarian and can mow - One man and his tractor and a bush hog went to mow a meadow, etc.

When mowing meadows (& such) I just don't know what I am likely to find out there that might need a bucket to haul it back for... proper disposal, whatever that means, maybe on the spot burial - - it depends what it is & maybe how long it has been there (-:

The FEL and bucket are just too handy to take off - & maybe have to come back for.

BIG mistake divulging such "teknikal" information to administrative personnel that understand financial stuff.

The loader is on most of the time on my JD 3520 as I use it to carry tools, logs, rocks, earth, gravel, cement, sand etc around the place. I take it off about once a week as I cannot otherwise drive the tractor among the many trees and various obstacles to mow, trim hedges, bush hog etc, and taking off the bucket doesn't make much difference.

On my old tractor(Kubota "B"), I tried removeing the QA loader. It was easy. I pulled it to do field mowing. Then, I had to add weights, becase the mower hanging off the back made the frontend light on my hills.

I put it back on. Stayed on, except for annual fluid/filter changes. Was easier to work on the tractor without it.

I've had my TC40D for a year now. Took the loader off once while mowing at home; worked fine, but I like the loader for moving stuff, picking up the newly found rock ect.

I take car of my parents property too. The loader comes off for that. But, only because the TC40D with mower is HUGE for my trailer, and barely fits. No way with the loader on too. My trailer is 16'; it is not in the budget to replace it, so the loader comes off for that trip.

I have an older tractor and loader combo without the quick-attach bucket, so removing the loader is much quicker than removing the bucket. Even though it takes removing two bolts from the loader frame, I can pop the loader off in under five minutes. Putting it on isn't much longer. I keep the wrench right in the tractor toolbox, so that eliminates 15 minutes of wasted time right there. (You know how wives are about hiding your tools)

I have a belly mower for the tractor, which takes much longer to put on and off than the loader. Wish that was a little quicker. Although I learned running all four wheels up on blocks of 2" x 4" makes a big difference in sliding it out. Living in a shaded area requires only mowing a few times a year, so taking the loader on and off isn't a chore. I actually enjoy it since it is a simple process. But there is no way I could mow around my trees with the loader attached, so it has to come off.

I take mine off when using the brush hog. Its so easy and fast its not a big deal.

I do sometimes find that I wish I had left it on to move things out of my way.

My FEL stays on most of the time. Usually just drop the bucket when mowing.

I don't have suitcase weights or the rack to mount. If I take my loader off bush hogging is ok but if I lift the cutter the front is awfully light.

I bought my 5210 in 2000 along with a shiny new 521 QD loader. It was so nice and shiny I never wanted to take it off. 11 years later the shine is gone but it still hasn't been off once. It is useful year round and even makes great ballast for drawbar work. Based on my history, I've already removed the parking stands from my new Bobcat 8tl also.
