thanks for the help.. BTW: good looking machine in your shop..

Thanks. It was a lot of years of dreaming and saving to build the shop and then buy the machine.

Good luck with your purchase, whichever model you end up with.

Thanks for the info and taking your time to help me understand all the issues. I am looking at the Pat's system also a little less dough and not as much structure to get around..

I'll give my recommendation for the Pat's Easy Change. It's probably not as quick as a Quick Hitch but I haven't adjusted my lower arms in years. I bought a Quick Hitch at first and then found out every piece of equipment needed to have Cat II adapters. I decided I didn't want that expense so I returned it and tried Pat's. You will need to get off the tractor to hook up but because you don't need to adjust the arms, it goes pretty quickly. I've been very satisfied with it for 10 years now.

Good luck in your decision.

thanks John, I thing it looks good for me , the only reason to get off the machine is to hook up the top link.. I have a couple old attachments (Fordson plow) and on old 3pt disc harrow that wont quote work with the Cat I QH, at least the one I measured (Speedco).

I like my QH. It really speeds up changing implements.

I have the SpeeCo Cat I QH that I picked up from TSC ... wouldn't want to be without it.

Having a hydraulic top link can help a bit in hooking things up ... sure is nice not to have to get off the tractor (unless there's a PTO shaft or hydraulic hose connections involved)

I started with the Pat's Easy Change prior to buying my quick hitch. Not usefull enough. Is (or was a few years back) not bullet proof(if you use your back blade, or your box blade hard, the thing could fail). Not much gain for still quite some pain to hook up your implements. You may need a longer top link if you end up using it. If you change implements frequently, you may ask yourself down the road why didn't I buy the Q.H. in the first place? A very very good complement to it, would be a hydraulic top link. Gives you some help on the initial hook up. It permits fine "on the go" "tilt angle" adjustment for each individual attachment, and it will tilt your implement further "up" even more, as you retract fully the cylinder. Free bonus!! It is effort-less, as you only control your third fonction valve, or your power byond one, if you have one so installed. :2cents:

I had the Pat's Easy Change on a 790 for several years. PEC fits everything with no modifications necessary since there is no fixed upper hook...and, with most implements, it's the lower connections that are toughest. Anyone who's wrestled around a rotary cutter knows what I mean there!
The drawback of the PEC is you normally have to get off the tractor to install the washers and lynch pins. I was never good enough where I could leave those bent retaining washers on the implement. But, you have to dismount the tractor to hook the top link and, if a powered implement, hook up the drive shaft.

Just installed Pat's QH. Once adjusted, it works well. Do make sure you get the stabilizer bar, makes adjustment of lower arm spacing and hook up easier.
