Another view. There is new brush hog attached. If not for the hog, the tractor would be on its side.

The drop is about 30 ft. Story is that the farmer was hogging his field, parked the tractor, and forgot to set the brake. It started rolling and stopped at the bottom.

I wasn't mine. If not for the new brush hog on the back, it would have been on the side. It looked like they could just hook a wrecher on the front, lift it up, and pull it on down the slope. The right front spindle was broken, I did not notice anything else broke.

Well, from the photo it looked like it had been there a while. So I though maybe it could be yours for the salvage effort.

it was actually pretty fresh, the broken trees stil had green leaves on then. It had been raining so that would delay the recovery. Also the main access road along the river was washed out and had to be repaired.

If it were mine, that river would scare me, if the water could get high enough to flood it.

Several years ago, a construction company near here was rebuilding a bridge and/or small dam across our little river. Friday PM, it was raining; they shut down for the weekend, AND LEFT BACKHOES AND CRANES in the river bed (behind the temporary diverter dam they had built.

Well, it rained Sat and Sun. By Sunday evening, water was level with the top of the cabs on the cranes.......... I think they dragged the backhoes out before they got in too deep.

They lost a lot of $$$$$ on that deal.

Either that or they needed new equipment and decided to let their insurance pay for them. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Be kinda hard to pull with a rope with the broken spindle. We were on vacation, checking family property along the river. The water didn't get over the road, it just got soggy and about 20 ft of bank slid down into the river. I don't think the dope growers in the area would steel it, they don't want the sherrif down there investigating.
