Who\'s Online Very Slow ???

Oh Great One and all devoted followers............

Since the revamp (Well, maybe only more recently - who knows) I have trouble getting to see who's online. It seems to hang or take forever.

All other areas of the site work fine.

Any ideas??

These contraptions sure confuse me, Neil. I have no problem with who's online. Of course, I cannot get into <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.iwon.com>http://www.iwon.com</A> and have no idea why.

Yeah, we haven't had any problems with speed of the who's online page.

You may be getting into some network latency issues since you're way on the other side of the really big pond called the Pacific. Won't go into any specific details, but your requests and the returned data have to travel a long way here and back. It could get very much more geeky that trying to explain Microsoft or software development issues. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Just for grins, try this from your command prompt (better way) or run menu pick - ping www.tractorbynet.com. This will send a datagram to the web server to see if it is alive. Try it at various times to see what the round trip time may be.

Here's what I get from Northern Virginia (condensed version):

Round trip times:

Min=40ms
Max=50ms
Avg=45ms

ms= milliseconds

It works fine for me to. Maybe it just takes longer for all of those ones and zeros to get to the other side if the world. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Seriously, i have occasionally had trouble while trying to open a post in a new window. They just get lost in a white page. Refresh or reload usually works.
