Whose else is using Ecobrick fire blocks?

Agree with that, have to check the package for moisture content, I do know the Enviblocks are very, very dry. As dry as three year old firewood that has been sitting under a roof (if not drier). They burn down to "powder". I bet I could burn near 1/2 pallet without having to clean out the firebox on the stove.

They are very easy to create an over fire with because they are so dry so some caution has to be used. I wouldn't recommend them in an open fireplace that didn't have a damper. My fireplace only has an air inlet restriction and no damper on the stack. I had bricks in the fireplace and my door wasn't closed completely letting some air to draft into the firebox and it was one really hot rolling fire to the point I could hear the chimney stack making a faint pinging sound from the metal expanding.

They do give off very little smoke though and as others has said when they are done all that is left is fine gray dust.
