Just think, if you had paid for tracking you'd know exactly where it is!

I get other people's mail and magazines regularly. Quite a bit of it was destined for the other side of the city  Had to set a reminder to call the water company if I don't recieve my bill by the 27th  Completely spaced out that the bill hadn't shown up, till the water was shut off. Got the bill and the past due notice the next day looking like they road around on the floor board of a car for a month. All wet and muddy. Regularly get bills a couple weeks later then they should. Water bills the only one I couldn't switch to email. Had a case of maple syrup completely go off the reservation last year for Christmas gifts. Had tracking on the package. They never did locate the package. It's either fed ex or ups from now on :)

They said the postage wasn't enough on both packages that it happened on. How you can ship something and expect the receiver to cover additional shipping? Wouldn't that have been figured out at the shipping counter?

I have had that happen several times with packages that I have mailed. My packages weigh 3 ounces exactly (most of the time).
I put postage on and mail them. The post office will weigh it and it weighs 3.01 ounces on their scale. They add 70 cents postage due on the package and go ahead and deliver it.

If they did not do this, they would have to return it to sender who would have to add postage and re-mail it causing several days delay. I have had customers say they prefer paying the postage due rather than having the delivery delayed and if they email or phone me to notify me of the payment, I will gladly refund them the amount they paid.

Naturally, some people will complain about having to pay the postage due while others will complain if the package is returned and delivery is delayed. You can't please everyone.

On another subject, once I went to the post office to get postage put on a package I had to mail to Canada. They told me how much it was and I attached the stamps I had brought with me and filled out the customs form and attached it to the envelope and handed the package back to the postal clerk. The clerk then weighed it again and determined that now it weighed more with the postage and form on it and made me pay for more postage.

So I ordered my package on Dec. 5 a Saturday, thru Amazon and was notified by email very early Monday EST it was shipped with USPS on that day 12/7

And usually they have always been pretty good for me.

So by the time Thursday rolled around and the mail carrier came and went I looked online at the tracking history and it said...guaranteed delivery by 8pm on Friday 12/11

Ya right

Only the Fed Ex delivery gal shows up at my house THAT time of evening :D

Well 3 pm today the mail carrier finally dropped it off.

We just received a small box, stamped and labeled "priority mail". It was marked "shipped 12/2, expected delivery 12/7". It cost $11.55 to ship. 5 days for priority mail? Nope. We received it 12/14. 12 days.
The Priority Express flat rate boxes are much more reliable though. We use them most times.
