Doing your job and servicing customers is not kissing butt and with that attitude, perhaps you should change jobs?
I never said doing your job and servicing customers is kissing butt.
I wouldn't change my job for the world. I've been blessed that customers I had no longer called on have taken a 8 hour drive to come to my wedding years ago. That said, I've been known to take business phone calls on my wedding day as well as on my vacations.
1 - If you aren't in business to make money, get out of business.
2 - Price, service and availability. Pick 2 because you can get all 3 if you want expect your vendor to stay in business.
3 - Life is too short to deal with buttholes on a constant basis, but if have to deal with them, you'd better be making good money on them.
4 - Customers can be terminated as they are no longer worth the time to deal with or they have no morals, both personally and professionally.
That said, if you think you're going to advertise your phone number on craigslist for a business and not get a bunch of nut jobs calling at odd hours, well, you may end up venting on a tractor forum.
That said, if you're a REAL business, you have a business line and a personal line. Business line gets answered when you want to take the time to answer them. That's why you're in business IMO. Iclude your personal line in with your business line and all bets are off.
