Why do tractors cost more in New England?

I can say, if I meet someone on the street/in a store/parking lot and if we make eye contact, I will either say hi or smile and nod my head.

I have to agree with Mundamanu. I lived in Manhattan for a while, and I found most people living there to be quite helpful and many were quite friendly. It has a lot to do with one's own attitude toward the others I would say. We had block parties where everyone brought food, we closed the street down, we helped each other with groceries or moving furniture. I doubt many people would even believe how nice the people in NYC can be. Be unkind or rude, and yes, they can get mean, but who can't. I was once told that the friendliest people are from North Carolina. I went to a flea market, said hello to each vendor and others, and out of all, only two people responded in kind. Should I now think that ALL people in NC are mean, unfriendly? Nope. As for the topic, the prices are higher there. Who knows why, and will knowing why make them any cheaper? Most likely not. John

KiotiJohn,
Florida is a bunch of Yankees realizing how great the South is.
If you go into the cities anywhere North, South, East or West people have time only for themselves.

This thread has taken a very nasty turn. I personally would be happy if it ended but, for the sake of completion let me see if I have this right.

Tractors cost more where ever you happen to be shopping for them and the other guy always got a better deal.

Some people are mean all the time and all people are mean some of the time.

Both statements are true and inevitably very sad. Now, I have a book next to me that states pretty plainly that judging people is not a healthy preoccupation for those interested in the long run.

The good news is that the book doesn't prohibit judging tractors and since that is what this forum was created for maybe we should stick with that.

You can always tell the new comers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They take the printed word as gospel /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif and think that everything that we say that we are being serious /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. Around here, believe half of what you read, and even less of what you see. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif We spend more time poking fun at each other during the off time commonly known as late fall, winter, and early spring, than two rabbits do doing what rabbits do best. Am I allowed to say that???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif If I am not, I am certain that Bird will edit it.... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif We really like each other and are just having some fun. When you have some posts under your tires, you to will understand and will join in. Who know, you might even have a post or two deleted and join a very elite group of posters that the moderators just love to follow around. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
