I do not have all the specs in front of me re displacement, bore, stroke, etc for the two engines. In any case, however, you can take two identical engines (I know these are not the same engine), tweak one of them to run at higher rpm, and rate it at a higher horsepower using the standard formula. When you put the plow to the dirt, however, both are going to lug down and it's the torque that's going to matter. You know those so called 26 hp Craftsmen garden tractors? Can you actually envision that thing winning a tug-o-war with a BX25? "Peak hp" is just a gimmick to bump up rpm and put a higher number on the stat sheet and increase sales. What really matters is what's gonna' happen when you apply a real load against the available torque.
