Why does starter fluid cure my no start? What is the issue?

Never heard of a broke choke shaft on a small engine. Or are you talking about a broke choke cable, seen many of those. Glad you found the problem. :thumbsup:

I don't know if he ever said which engine. Kohler at times will have a a little choke wizard w/ a spring control on it at the end of the shaft. They break at times. On some they have gone to their Smart Choke system.

I’ve seen where the choke plate comes loose on its shaft so the plate doesn’t move.
