Jump to 11:15 to bypass all the historic fluff if you already know it.

Today, FORD picked the WRONG global market. They are in heaps of trouble with vehicles and trucks, if the hung onto their Ag, those really loyal would of kept on. Dumb choice back in 1991.

Ford sold New Holland to Fiat, then CNH their competitor bought Fiat Ag.

The Ford legacy with Japan tractor maker Shibaura is a match like Deere with Yanmar. Those machines will stand the test of time like the famous 8N. Many are in the same size and power like the 8N.

The original idea for the Funk conversions was to allow the Ford 8N to compete with the big tractor boys in the large, mid-west farms and be able to pull a 3-bottom plow. The early ones used a 6-cylinder engine but later included the flathead 8's. That stimulated creativity and now folks have stuck OHV V8's from every car manufacturer, as well as a Honda motorcycle engine and a monster turbine in 8Ns.

Grandfather was a Crew foreman. The Ford Funk came from a Owner of a coal mine. It was to much for him. WV.. Leaned it and stuck it up against a tree. Scared the !!!! out of him so he sold it. INKY. To Much power! Grandfather had to use his team of plow horses to get it rolled back over and out away from a tree. The Org. Co. was Funk Aircraft Company of Coffeyville, Kansas. But the Tractors was built in PA.. That was interesting when I found that out and Pa. wasn't all that far. We was in OH. then and dad knew exactly what it was. It was said what he paid cash for it and wasn't much. LOL... No damage to it, Just hard getting to it. The owner took it off the price which was cheap in the first place. Early 1960's.. True!
