Getting up into the lift is every easy making this a one man job. Raise the lift to desired height, step on front tire and into the lift. Coming off the lift, brace one hand on the ROPS and step onto front tire to the ground.

The manlift is 60 inches by 36 inches. Even at full height I can stand at any spot and 425 will not tip or lean.
What I really like is that it is easy to get into and out of. Projects will not require a second person and I have a stable platform to work on.

I go with a little more throttle and it stays up just fine. At least for as long as I was trimmimg.
I will be using it for painting the windows (trim) on the school house which will require it to be in place for a longer period. That will be the test.
The platform is reversible.

Excellent concept. Being paranoid like I am, I suggest that you put some safety bars so if the control arm is accidentially hit these would hold up the platform. You could weld a pipe to each of the safety bar supports and have a smaller pipe inside. Have several holes in the first pipe that you could slide a pin in, just above the top of the sliding pipe. Just a suggestion. Others will probably think of better concepts.

With the max. height that the 425 can put the lift to, additional safety measures are not necessary from my perspective. Most of the time the use will be to trim the hedge as shown in the pictures at a height of three feet.

Excuse my ignorance but was the platform built using a blank plate from PT or are you using it by inserting the forks into square tubing? It appears to be the latter but I wanted to be sure.

I built a similar platform 30 years ago to hold bikes on the back of my motorhome but inserted it into a Reese hitch receiver. I assume that for those who do not have the fork attachment for their PT that they too could build a platform that would insert into the tow receiver, if they have that attachment from PT.

Nice concept and I'm sure that you will find many uses for the platform. As you say, it can be reversed and used to move plants, boxes or anything else that can be supported on the platform.
