3-Point Hitch Why I can't plow

Yep, modify the top link to eliminate that extra linkage between your top link and the plow.

And a properly adjusted plow should be riding parallel with the ground at the bottom of the furrow, not at the surface of the ground. Which would mean the plow point would hit the ground first slightly before the rest of the plow and level off at the bottom of the furrow.

Best post so far. Follow this guidance and it'll work fine.

Once you have it adjusted so it wants to plow deeper you will then control the depth with the 3pt lever. Trial and error will get you there.

Are you in Barrie MASS?? If so I'm going down through there within the next week, I have an extra top link that would work. As said, the tip of the plow should hit the ground before anything else does, after the tip goes into the ground while holding down on your drop lever, when it digs in to the soil and at your desired depth, let off the lever and it should turn soil at that depth.

Give us a picture of what you have for extra top links so we can advise..

After you fix the setup problems, check significant wear on the plow share. If its badly worn, it will tend to float on top of the ground instead of digging in. I've seen a lot of plows scrapped out because the previous owner didn't recognize why it didn't work anymore.

The plow is small Sear's plow i got from scrapyard. I did some modification to be able to connect to Kubota PTO (sic) system.

I try to put different mount but neither original or my modification works.

Only touching surface on some occasion going 1-2 inch deep.Is anybody to quide me how to make it works. Thank you.

Your little plow is a sleeve hitch plow for a garden tractor. It is NOT designed to work mounted on a Three Point Hitch.

I think you are wasting your time. It took Harry Ferguson, inventor of the Three Point Hitch, six years to modify the horse drawn moldboard plow to invert earth properly behind a tractor.

You do not know how to plow, yet you think you can weld until it works. Unlikely. Both draw pins in Photo #2 are at the same level. Right pin should be offset ~~6"~~ higher, so when right wheel is in furrow, plow is level.

Buy a proper Three Point Hitch plow with a reduced dimension frame specifically designed for subcompact tractors.

Plows are one of the most difficult implements to learn to operate properly even when plow/tractor fit is 100%
