Just finished my BX-23's light bar. Its got two forward facing 55w trapezoid floods (WalMart - $19.95), one rear facing 55w flood (Benny's - $9.95), and four amber alternating flashers (eBay - postal vehicle lights - a box of 10 for $25). All of this is bolted to a piece of angle iron u-bolted to the ROPS.

I have it wired off the original switches in the dash so that the headlight switch kicks in a relay that turns on the floods. The hazard switch kicks in a relay that activates an alternating thermal flasher that flashes the ambers on the bar. All lights on total about 16 amps.

I'll have photos of the installation later on but right now... here are the movies!:

Lights - Front

Lights - Back

In the sequel to my movies, you'll hear the click of the alternating flasher. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My digital camera does it all for me at a press of the button. Most/many of the new digital cameras will do this out of the box. You just slide the switch over to "movie" and press the button to start recording.

I figured it would be cool to see the wig wags in action.

The siren will be installed shortly after the new interceptor engine goes in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tulips? I hate 'em. I've got daffodils and crocus popping up though!

Rob,
I take it, 10 for $25, the flasher wasn't included /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No it wasn't. I got the flasher from JC Whitney years ago. If you look at the back of a postal trucks, the yellow lights are the ones I have.

I saw some of them on Ebay. Figured they were the same thing.

Just finished up the installation of the HD alternator on my 2200. As luck would have it I had to file out the bottom mounting bracket as there was no insert to pop out. That was almost two hours of filing and cussing. Other than that, the wiring and the rest of the installation was straight forward if you have read the thread and looked at the pictures on TBN.

Now when I have all six lights, defroster, heater, wiper, and flashers going the lights don't dim at all!

Thanks to everone who went before me.....the "new" directions are anything but clear and the pictures are almost too small for these old eyes to see.

Dang! I have a custom made bit for drilling that out that I would have sent you. You have to drop the starter out to get the drill in but it was lots less time than trying to file it out.

Anyone else runs into this problem and wants to use the bit just let me know!
