Don't own a Kubota but I can tell you that adding a set of horns to your tractor isn't rocket science and shouldn't intimidate you either. We felt the need to add a set to our New Holland. Hope some of this info helps you adding a horn

Agreed that a horn is required.
I'd use it to:
Alert someone that they are coming into your path
Nofiying someone that their help is required (to move a shovel, etc)
Saying hi to the neioghbors!

I agree on the need for a horn, it was one of the first additions I made to the tractor. Harbor Frieght has a few different horns to choose from.

Because people like me would rip that backup alarm off faster than you could blink your eye.

I hate those beepers. I think part of it is, it resonates with my tinninitis in my right ear. Second, I just hate beepers. I very seldom work the tractor around other people, so it is not of so much safety issue to me.

The dinger in my truck drives me bonkers too. Sometimes I want the drivers door open, with the key in ACC and the radio on... Without the sound of that horrible dinger.../forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I would like a horn on both the Farmall and the Kubota. I take the Farmall in parades, and would like an old time "ah-oo-ga" horn. The farmall has no electrical though... It is hand crank start. There's nothing to hook the horn up to... The Kubota has a horn on it now. I just have not pulled the dash to get the button and wire up there yet(It has a hole in the dash already, marked as a horn).

Do you think an L model horn should be louder than a B model? Perhaps a M model bigger/louder than the others?

If/when I put a generator and starter on the Farmall, it will get a "Ahooga" horn.

The B8200 has a generic car horn from Kragen/Checker. I just gotta get the wire up through the dash...

For an "L" series, a set of the generic Kragen/Checker/Autozone/NAPA airhorns would be good.

For an "M" series, full blown air horns would top it off nicely /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have. Had a horn on my last tractor that the manufacturer felt was important enough to include with the machine as standard equipment. Many tractors have them and its not an uncommon thing. I assumed the BX tractors had them but they don't. Making other people in the work or travel areas aware that you need their attention is a good thing.

Exactly! Horns aren't just devices used in automobiles.
