One question from a lady friend I could never find a pleasing answer to: "What are thinking about?" Uh oh.
I look back now and believe it was a clue from her saying "I'm bored, I think I'll pick a fight."

I can relate. When we were first married, there were times when I knew we were going to have a fight, I just didn't know yet what it was to be about.

A long time ago (we have been married 29 years) in another place, I was mowing the grass. I needed a break so I left the mower behind her car, went inside through the garage and got a beer.

She was in a hurry to go somewhere and got in her car —— and backed over the mower.

So, whose fault was that?

She was very upset. She was crying. I was holding a beer. At that instant, I realized it was 100% my fault. What did I have to gain to argue she was to blame? Would the mower come back to life?

I learned something that day and it wasn’t to never put the mower behind her car.

Clearly if you had not left the UTE in the way of the delivery she would not have had to go move it and thus would not have left it on an toasted the battery. I mean the logic is all there. Just like when my wife backed my car out of the garage and took off the mirror. That is clearly my fault for parking the car wrong.

Before retirement I profiled some of the coutries nastiest villains, knew what they were likely to do when confronted, predicted where they would likely turn up, identify likely victims, lectured those entering the field but nothing could prepare me for this illogical 'logic'.
Sadly this was only one instance, the mobile phone is a never ending source of frustration, if she has it with her it is either off or flat, when charged it remains on the bedside table or in my car.
She still believes it will ring when turned off and I gave up long ago attempting to explain that to her.
On one occassion she locked her keys in her car, called me and asked me to bring the spare keys then hun g up and turned it off, 2 hours later when she called to see where I was I got to ask where she was.
This was also my fault.

1. Maybe you are joking, I assume you are because you do not know my wife and me to make such a detailed observation. I have tried to get my wife to care about money and even understand where I have it invested and she has no interest whatsoever.

Re: 1 yes I am, everyone here is so tense. You put personal info out there. A response wouldnt shock me :laughing: but one thing you didn’t mention was that she had no interest. That changes things a bit.
Re: 2 again, joking, but mildly serious. She does screw up a little here and there, but earns a nice living, so why get my nose out of joint about a $25 overdraw or a late payment here & there ? :confused2:

Reminds me of the time I was building a house for a customer about 15 years back. We were in the finishing stages and my tile sub was there tiling the bathrooms. Had his van parked on stone driveway. So later in the morning, my customer rolls up in his BMW and parks snugged up behind tile contractors van. Tile guy goes for lunch. Gets in van and backs up onto hood of BMW. Does like 10 grand in damage.
Who’s fault? Well it was all blamed on tile guy, but he had a point when he said, why would the customer park his car up tight behind a box truck like that? Stupid.
About 20 years ago, I stopped by my architects office to pick up some house prints. I was in my F800 dump. Parked it in a 200 space parking lot alone, with maybe 2 other cars in the entire lot. In the 2-3 minute time span I was in there, this dope parks his little 2 seat Miata directly behind me.:confused2: I get in the truck, throw in reverse and hit his hood. :cool2:

My wife likes her new BMW. She will park way out in the far reaches of a shopping center parking lot to avoid door dents. Inevitably, she will come out and theres another car parked right next to hers, even though there’s 1200 other spaces to chose from. :laughing:
