Had a load delivered a few days ago, ute was in the way so missus moved it out of the way.
Somehow she managed to leave the ignition on.
Yesterday I went to move the ute and discovered it.
Somehow this is my fault.
Seeking the collective wisdom of the erudite members to explain as to why I am at fault here.

You are at fault because you are the male.

Me and my BIL were moving a China cabinet for my Mom. Against what I wanted to do she insisted we remove every piece of glass. We carefully placed the glass in the back seat of her suv. She later needed the backseat and haphazardly put the glass in the back. Then she opened the back hatch and all the glass fell out. Yep it was out fault because we didn’t unload the glass at the same time we unloaded the cabinet despite the fact it was on a trailer behind a different vehicle. Women logic. Don’t try to understand.

My experiences indicate bcp has the correct response.

My boss say's why me all the time when something breaks, I just say it's because your special......

Probably because it was 'your' ute... at the time of the incident.

Any other time it would be 'our' ute.

My lady friend always apologizes. Never excuses or deflecting blame. I like that.

'She' drove it down one of the 'avenues' (horse owners don't have lanes or tracks) with the float attached, she went back later to take it out but cannot reverse anything with a trailer, I'm guessing she turned on the ignition then realised this was going to end badly so just left it for me to reverse out a week later.
Needless to say the 6 month old battery is absolutely cactus and a new one is about $300.00.
So, I am in it again/still, just the depth varies.

Yeah, totally, it's your fault. You should own better equipment. :) Now is your chance to put a solar roof on your Ute so it will never run down.

I'm a smile sweetly and "Yes dear" kind of guy. It pays dividends for me. I'm sure that she knows that she owes you double. One for toasting the battery, and two for not having managed to turn the Ute and float around in the first place.

The toasted battery might be a good excuse for a fancy charger. Just saying...

Sorry about the grief and the absolutely cactus battery. Personally, I hate losing batteries.

All the best,

Peter

Could be worse. She could have realized the battery dead and put charger on it, BACKWARDS.

Battery completely dead will take reverse polarity charge.
Dat when de expensive fun starts.

Dis time of year I good gor 7 jump starts a week from girls. Dey not allowed to jump each other or use chargers.

Could you re write that so we can read it?

Your doomed. Plead guilty and move on because it's futile to plead your case. The more you drag this out you will be sleeping out with the horses.

These days I cannot win a discussion if my life depended on it. Early in our relationship it was more even, but as time went on if winning is who gets the last word, I win less and less to the point of no return. I just will not talk as much or as long and I guess and my logic does not count. On the good side, she could care less on what I spend on tractor equipment and I make all money decisions.

Win the war, not every battle.

One question from a lady friend I could never find a pleasing answer to: "What are thinking about?" Uh oh.
I look back now and believe it was a clue from her saying "I'm bored, I think I'll pick a fight."
