Why no love for MF around here?

I grew up on MF, (international and ford threw in every now and then).

I'm debating between MF and a Kubota at this point (leaning towards MF)

it's hard to find any reviews on the MF, not only hear but anywhere on the internet.

My grandpa always said "real tractors are red"

What model are you looking at?

Just ask anyone who has a relatively new one, either CUT or SCUT, if they'd like to give them up.... My GC's going on 5 years old and I still love it.:)

Maybe they just don't have as many "issues"?

I know the older ones, particularly the 135s, are still very well thought of.

I agree with irvingj, if there's any issues on massey compact , you will here about it.:)

Recently bought a NH Workmaster 55, BUT we were heavily leaning towards a MF. The problem? The MF dealer near us only had cabbed tractors in the HP range we were looking. That's $7,000 more than an open tractor. It would have been weeks until we could get an open version of the MF so we went with blue.

I think they are great tractors and would seriously consider one, but nearest dealer to me is 60 miles away, and in a direction and town I never go to for anything else. Two JD dealers within 15 miles either direction, my Dad lives in the town one is at and I drive by the other going to and from work. So they are convienient.

I keep looking for a good MF 135 or 150 and no luck so far....I love Massey...I have owned Ford, JD and New Holland but never a Massey...but I just like the way they look...so I want a used one to play with...

You are not alone. The competetion for them is fierce and when a good one comes along, especially at a good price (rare), they don't last long.

The only reason I've got blue instead of red is the dealer took his time getting back to me on a price (two weeks for a price quote) and was two days to late.

Love my 135, am looking to upgrade and MF is one of two brands I'm considering. Have decided I won't be trading the MF in when I do decide, been too reliable and you kind of get to feeling like it's a trusted part of the family after a while.

"...and you kind of get to feeling like it's a trusted part of the family after a while."

Kinda like where I am now, even though I'm a relative newcomer to the MF ownership family.

I'm not a farmer, but I push 'er hard once in a while. She always takes it in stride.:) I enjoy hearing stories of older MFs that are still going strong.

(Did you realize that it was Ferguson who invented the three point hitch?:D)

Love our MF 1652 with power shuttle. No problems and the service is great.
