Wi-Fi routers what do you use? Coverage in the house?

When I put in my address it comes back not available.

Cell is bad here but ok 300 feet up the street…

I borrowed my brothers cube from the Christmas Tree Farm last January and brought it to my place.

I had consistent 9.5 MB with the cube which opened a whole new world…

Verizon phone I’m using now if I hold it just right and no airplane is flying overhead is 1 MB

I’m thinking the cube has a much better antenna plus it doesn’t get moved around.

Previous owner had DSL which was the very outer fringe for DSL… no longer an option.

I just checked the availability and price for the Verizon Cube…

Basic up to 100MB $50 per month less $10 for auto pay.

300MB $70 per month less $10 auto pay.

The kicker is my direct across the street neighbor has availability but I don’t.

Im at the low spot of a saddle back ridge of sorts and directly behind a hill at the end of the ridge obstructing towers.

Even being in a city of 450k population in a region with 10+ million internet isn’t always a sure thing.

Then add being on a flight path for International Airport I find voice and Internet easily disrupted as planes fly over.

Some of your post (hits home). I also live on the backside of a mountain and several 100' from the crest... Having the "Appalachian Trail" located not to far from home, and civilization on the other side of the mountain I feel pretty confident that new cell tower(s) here is not high on the list. This is why I need really good internet wi-fi at the home

I bought a older Orbi off from ebay & have been very pleased with it. If you have a router with external antennas, try mounting a outside antenna up high & connect it to the router with a cable. That worked well for me while it lasted.
Locoweed, Can you provide any info on these external antennas? I installed the Orbi750 series Mesh system with 3 satelites also have a Docsis 3.1 new modem on Comcast 1Gig internet. Mine have been somewhat erratic dropping signal etc and i'm looking ti boost the signal from the main router.

The main router is in the garage/office, then 2 satellites in the house and another in the summer house. We are covering ~2 acres with 200' between buildings.

router has to be able to accept external antennas the orbi's do not

I live in a bowl and no cell phone signal. Hughes net satellite is slooowww at less than 1MB at most times. I now have had Starlink for awhile and am quite happy with it. I use it as a modem with a pass through for the router and feed into ubiquity and use their router and access points. I have about a 300' radius and use cell phone over internet. I have access points in my metal buildings. It all works more reliably than the landline and I can now place and get calls most places.
