This the part of spring I don't like. We are getting some really strong winds tonight. Has dropped 40 deg. already, supposed to go down another 15 or so. Got home tonight and my wife said something is thumping in the attic. Went outside and shone a light on the roof, and there are shingles off and some blowing up real bad. I got some nails, went out a window to the front porch, climbed up the steep front side with a head lamp on, and nailed down what was flapping. Got at least 2 shingles missing, they were nailed, but not sealed. These are new shingles put on this summer supposed to be good to 130 mph winds. it looks like there just isn't any tar on the tar strip, or very little. I hope I don't lose any more tonight. Just the few minutes I was on the roof, my hands about froze.

Crazy winds here too, and temps dropping from 70s today to upper 20s tonight. Will be low 20s tomorrow night. Last two times we had temperature drops this bad, we got a lot of snow, but it seems this time the rain came and went before the cold dropped through.

Had wind here yesterday and LOTS of dust blowing looked like smog at first.

Wind blew hard here all night still blowing this morning. Yesterday was 68 today 38 big change. Porch furniture blew all over the place last night sounded like bumper cars outside. Spring is trying but winter will not let go

Buppie, are you in NC? It was almost 80 here yesterday and then a front come through and the temps plummeted and windy as heck. I can't keep a deck umbrella, cheap pieces of crap blow over and the aluminum rods bend like noodles.

Unfortunately our truly higher winds come later in the year when things have dried out and the wind whips up dust and volcanic ash. Its just like a white-out only its a dust-out. During those dust storms you can successfully brush your teeth w/out any toothpaste.

I had 3 shingles blow off. got 2 nailed back whole, but the 3rd is ripped. I found some new ones in the shed, but will wait till sat to fix it right. I did nail a couple roof brackets on to hold onto.
