wider front tires

I'd like to somehow rig wider front tires on my little Iseki TL2100 four wheel drive. The tires are always getting me stuck due to the loader weight. Are there wider rims with similar diameter, or could these be widened?

What ever you do match the tire diameter for the use. It is very imortant to match the tires as I've seen the drive shaft spitting out within four hours of operation! That's not cheap for any one!

What kind of weight do you have on the rear to offset what your picking up on the front? Might just need to load your rear tires or attach an implement, or both.

Always ensure you have adequate inflation in those front tires...that may be your problem.
And, maybe your fronts need replacing...might not have enough tread left on them.

Looks like you have it rigged nice. Have you thought about adding chains to the front? How about a pic of area where your getting stuck. Is it in a particular spot every time, or at various spots around your property?

The tires are new, 6 ply's. The rears are loaded with calcium in tubes. The fronts are sinking into a bog area that crosses most of my land. Once you go through the top most layer, it's pure mud about 4 feet deep. Wider fronts would help float the weight of the loader.

I took the 7.5" mud knives off the front of my 5005 Mahindra after the first winter. Luckily the 10" wheels off of my 4320 have the same lug pattern (I put 14" wide wheels on the 4320).
It really helped keep the front end up when putting out 5X6 rolls of hay in our typical wet East Texas winters. I would think just about any dealer would be able to lay hands on some wider wheels. But as mentioned before, double check the circumference of the new to make sure you end up w/ the same "gearing" for the 4WD.

Have you considered putting a 2nd set of wheels/tires on the front hubs? Since the wheels are a reverse type offset wheel, you ought to be able to mount a 2nd wheel on each front hub with some spacers and longer studs. Then you would have a dual tire configuration that would have better flotation. You can check this out using the other wheel on the axle to see how much stock it would take.

Get a spare set of rims that bolt up to your wheel. Cut the centers out of this set of wheels. Weld these centers into wider rims, being sure to have the right backspacing, before you weld. As mentioned before, do not change the rolling diameter of the tires that you are using, or you could cause mechanical drive line damage. Nothing against Milkman or Kubota, but that dually setup on the front looks to me like its going to break something. Just my 2 cents!

That Kubota front end does look pretty wide. Lots of leverage on that axle.

But if this is the machine in question:

you could probably get away with dual fronts.

Also curious, could the outside front tires be a smaller diameter? That way, during normal use the primary tires would be in use. When those start to sink in, the secondary tires would contact the ground. If the ground is soft enought for the secondary tires to touch down, there should also be enough slipage to prevent drive line binding.

Doug, I don't know about everyone else but I kind of like the slightly smaller extra tires idea. The part of the extra tires farther away from the mount have greater leverage and wear the front wheel bearings more. If the tires were a tad smaler when on good solid surface you would not have the extra force, just when really needed.

Don't overdo the size differential as when the tread of the smaller tire engages softer ground it will have a smaller forward velocity than the larger tire which will tend to make for some slippage.

As far as whether or not that will effect the likelihood of lifting off from a "Magic Conveyor Belt", I don't want to take a stand, just yet.

Only the weight that is mounted on the chassis behind the rear axle will reduce load on the front.

Loaded tires will prevent the rear comming off the ground (good). But wont unload the front axle (not good).

Think fat kid on a teter totter (loaderl. Do you want the 2nd fat kid sitting on the pivot in the middle (rear axle) or on the other end (3pt).
