Good selection and, if a choice between the 3038 or 3032 and a 4310...well, you bought the better tractor.
Good luck and be safe!

Thanks Roy,

Just prior to purchasing this. I got quoted for a new 3038e w/ FEL from the JD dealer. After taxes, assembly and the add ons I wanted it quoted out be over 23K.

One quick question for you all? Will Kutoba Rims fit on JD? They are both 6 bolt rims but I thought I read somewhere that JD rims have a bevel of some sort to them. I really like the ag tires I have on my kubota and the 4310 comes with R4's.
I know the stance of the 4310 is a little narrow so I am thinking also about getting a spacer kit for the tires to widen it and give it a little more stability.

Do spacer kits generally cause additional wear and tear on the axles or ball joints. I'm thinking about getting anything from a 3-5" spacer to give me anywhere from 6-10" wider stance on the tractor.

I'd be very surprised if the Kubota rims fit your 4310. The bolt circle may be different for one thing, also Deere rims fit a raised section on the hubs to position the rim concentric to the hub. Can't hurt to try them though...
But before you do that, look in your manual for repositioning your rims. If you have R-1 Ag tires, the rims should have 8 positions to move the hub. If you have R-3 Turfs or R-4 Industrials, the rims are welded, but you may get enough width if you reverse the wheels (side to side for R-4's). I gained about 4-5 inches when I reversed my wheels (turf tires, in this case).
As far as spacers, quite a few guys install them. If you got that way, I wouldn't go more then 4" (per side). As far as added wear, I haven't heard of any premature failures...yet.

I have a 4310 with a 430 loader that I bought used last fall and I love it. It's beat up and had been WELL used but it does everything that I need it to do. Mowing 5+ acres, moving snow, lifting up my rear finish mower so I can clean and change blades, etc. It has about 2000 hours on it and uses no oil and barely puffs smoke for just a second when I start it up.

As far as spacers go...I'm not going to bash a vendor but you might want to do a google search for complaints on the company before you order anything. Just type in something like "XYZ Company complaints" and see what pops up.

I ordered some 3" spacers on march 4th. Supposed to be anodized black. Showed up a month later (supposed to be 7-10 days) and they were raw aluminum so I ended up painting them myself. Then when I went to put them on I found that I was shorted 2 of the lugs. Sent them an email on April 14th and have yet to hear back from them. Don't know if the spacers even fit or not.

Anyway check before you buy.

I have a Deere 4210 with 60 inch MMM, 420 FEL, and Frontier 6' RB. Took delivery in early 2003 and it currently has 1035 hours on it, dead reliable and in all that time it has only required $50 worth of repairs (deck clevis welds) and everything else was normal maintenance. My 4000-Ten has been reliable far in excess of what I had expected and sometimes I wish I had purchased a 4310 instead but only to gain more FEL lift height. Congratulations !!! PM me should you have any questions.

I been tinkering around on JD parts sites and I have to admit I think JD has the most thorough layout I have ever seen. You don't even a parts manual everything is already in exploded schematics. This is really good to know.

I already ordered up a set of Pat's Easy Change for the back. Now the last things on the wish list are a set of pallet forks and a grapple and I will have my whole tractor set up for life.
