Will 0% financing continue?

With a real concern about deflation due to too few dollars chasing a glut of goods it is hard to see much increase in the cost of money unless it is the nations debts that drive it up trying to borrow the fewer dollars there are to borrow.

I just check Kubota's WEB site and good news, the 0% interest continues but they dropped the customer cash back of $300 when you bought with an FEL on the 0%.

I think that was only on particular tractor/FEL combinations, so many purchases would not have benefited from this.

Sure, it's back. Zero percent has been the norm, not the exception, for most of the past 3 years. This coincides with the going interest rate (in the sewer) and the general economy. (also in the sewer)

When they drop this for real and couple it with some hefty prices increases is when you'll know the economy is back. The downturn has already lasted longer than most, and the uptick is seemingly very, very slow and quite uneven.

Does anyone know how the CIR works? Is it a rebate if you don't use the 0% financing? Is it something the dealer just takes off the price of the tractor?

We're upticking in Somerset.

Maybe we were so low up is the only way we could go. :D

While we are between KY Lake and the MS River I am impressed with the home and business construction in how it has been steady for the last 5 years and we see sale pending signs often within a couple weeks after a home has been listed.

i doubt there many who have purchased in the last 5 years that are upside down even and those looking for work seem to find it for the most part. Food banks are reporting an up tick in those they serve each month in 2009 but I know some of them were already retired and living on fixed incomes or retired early due to loss of jobs and were not prepared for retirement.

We hope chicken little's view does not become reality for us.

I know some states have been slammed harder than others. Farmland is selling higher than anytime in history and home prices have been steady for years. We will see how the lack of easy credit will impact things. I see new tractors and farm equipment of all types being delivered.

Remember we have tobacco and alcohol going of us or going against us depending on your point of view.:D

In all seriousness I do not understand why we did not see housing price increases or decreases like much of the rest of the nation. We are very rural like like even in the cities and I think a lot of people have family support. $10 per hour is still a pretty good wage in many areas. A lot of people have skills to meet many of their own need for services.

I hope the news media do not talk us down into a hole.

The reason we did not see housing prices increase and decrease in the rural parts of the US is that the prices had not gone up to crazy prices because of hugh demands so therefore our prices did not have to drop back down to reasonable normal prices, they were already there. Interesting that the President of UAW said their workers will not be able to buy the cars they make if they only make $14 an hour plus I'm sure great benefits. I suspect most of the buyers of new cars make less than $14 per hour per individual. That $14 per hour is about $30000 a year. and most of us in rural America feel that is a pretty good annual salary.

I'm curious about this too.

Barlow's gave me a price with the idea of financing part of it. Since I'm not I wonder if he gave it to me or not.

Ask him.
He has changed his price on me a couple of times when I went to sign the paperwork. One time for $1000 and one time for $700. less than the agreed on price. Steve said he had gotten some money from Kubota after the deal was made. Once was because Kubota gave me Fleet price for some strange reason.:):D

Guys there is no uptick. If these brands don't back down on their price AND offer 0 interest they are going to go belly up. These tractors are not moving because the bulk of them are real cool toys...like a Harley...and in our area of the country you can buy any Harley for any price. You know things are tough when the Harleys are going at a major discount. And the CUTs are not hardly moving at all. The Kubota dealership went belly up. That is one reason I pulled back from buying a NH two weeks ago...the dealership/companies just aren't ready to bargain like I think they should. On the other hand my Massey dealer just flat out told me to wait till this week as he thought he could give me a heck of a better deal so I said okay...will see him Saturday. He is really trying to put together something and even offered to find a bank with a great rate as he feels these 0% interest deals so are just fiction as they acually just tack on several thousand dollars on the back end of the price. When I can get a great deal (discount) plus 0 % I will go for it. Mainly I just want these guys to realize everyone else is lowering the price of their goods so why not them. What is "reasonabe" and what is not all depends on the underlying economy...all else is fiction.
