I recently bought a Kubota L3560HSTC tractor. I'm looking at finish mowers for my property and the Land Pride FDR3690 90" finish mower falls into the "go big or go home" category. Looking at their product page they say that the mower requires 30-70HP. My tractor has a 35HP motor but the PTO is only 28HP. One thing I haven't figured out yet is which HP Land Pride's site is referring to when they list their attachments. I'm wondering if this mower would work on my tractor without issue, or if it would be a struggle and I should look at something smaller.

I have run larger rear finish mowers on smaller machines over the years without issue. A lot depends on what you will be cutting, and the terrain. Using a 90" mower behind your L3560 may not be the best choice if you're mowing thick pasture a couple times per year, but I'm sure it would be fine cutting lawn type areas on a regular basis. Even in thick / tall grass I suspect your machine would work, just at slower ground speeds or at a higher cutting height.

I checked Land Pride's operators manual for specs and HP "requirements" and they don't specify pto or engine HP there either.
I ran a 72" RFM on my Kubota B8200 (16hp pto) and an 84" RFM on a Kubota L3410 (27hp pto) without issue. Currently I run the 84" mower with my L4060 and wish I had a 90" or small 11' multi deck mower.
Good luck with your decision.... I say go for it.

Thanks! It's purely for lawn cutting, I already have a 6 foot rotary cutter for the more ugly sections. Glad to hear some real-world experiences.

If you have not purchased a mower yet you should look at the John Deere 290 or 390 flail mower and you will be able to mow everything with one attachment and it is a safer mower to own and operate and you can sell the rotary cutter.

The John Deere 290 or 390 flail mower with side slicer(grass) knives will allow you to recut the clippings and they will dissolve back into the sod and it not leave windrows of clippings like a rotary mower does and you can sell your rotary cutter.

Hey JerkyCrew,...Did you purchase the FDR3690? if so, how does your Kubota L3560 handle it? I have an FDR3690 that I use behind my open station Kubota L4600 and it does fine, but I would like to get a cab, HST Kubota L3560 to use with the FDR3690 (mow in the A/C), but I'm a little concerned the L3560 may not have enough HP for the FDR3690, which says. 30-70HP required. Would appreciate info on your experience. Thanks.
