I want to install a hydraulic cylinder on a dump wagon.
I have 4"x6'x1-3/8" cylinder on an old Hesston hay stacker. I noticed the rods in my 2-1/2" cylinders on one of my tractor fel are larger than 1-3/8 and are shorter cylinders.
I presume on the stacker operation, the most load would be in the closing position, so no chance of bending rod. If I use on the dump wagon, it will be pushing open. Is there any chance of the rod not being strong enough & bending?
