Re: Will Pats\' quick change system work on a BX2230?
Bluecon,
I don't have Pat's, but I had replied to another BX owner asking this question that I don't think the top link connection will work once Pat's system is on as it will move the bagger back a couple inches. I think if you can come up with a way to extend that piece then Pat's should work fine.
By the way if you do, let me know as this is the main reason I have not decided to pursue a quick hitch or Pat's.
And your right about the bagger being a PIA to attach/detach.
Good luck,

Surfran... that is an understatement! I installed mine for the first time last weekend and it took two of us to get the toplink attached. This fall I will design a dolly for the beast and some sort of lift to make it easy to install. After I mow grass this weekend I plan to remove the catcher until fall. Originally, I planned to use the catcher (as needed) when the grass was tall but I will scrap those plans until I come up with a better installation process.

I've gotten some dimensions back from Pat's, and it looks like some modifications would be needed to install the rear bagger with the Pat's system. The right side lower connection just needs more clearance, so we need to cut the cross-frame to allow the clearance, as well as extending the top connection point to compensate for the 3.5" that the Pat's extends the lower arms. It's staring to sound like work, but it's probably all easily done with some planning.

I use my car jack to provide some lift to the bagger once I have it attached on the lower links. I then rotate the top attach point and put the pin in. It is still a PIA, but at least I don't have to muscle as much. I typically use mine some this time of year, but by mid summer my grass does not require it so I put it up until fall for the leaves.
They really need to come up with a better way to mount though. The units they sell in Europe look intersting, and they dump!!
