2) initial quality is a useless measurement unless you want a vehicle for a year or two

As much respect as I have for Elon Musk and Tesla, I loathe electric vehicles. They've become a physical representation of so much that I find repulsive about the world right now.

I drive from St Louis to Tampa —- roughly 1000 miles. 5-6 times/year. It’s easy in a gas car - stop for gas/coffee every 300 miles. Interstate all the way.

I can make the trip in 16 hours.

How long would you think it would take in a Tesla? Would I have to spend the night along the way?

Easy solution is to have an EV for mostly local driving and ICE for towing, hauling, or long trips. I still have my F250 diesel.

I wouldn't hesitate driving my Model Y anywhere in the country and stopping every 200-240 miles for 20 minutes would force me go to the restroom more.

Now my Chevrolet Bolt EV that my daughter is using I would not drive long distances because it takes about 45 minutes to get a enough miles to the next charger, which may or may not be working, because at this point it can't use Tesla Superchargers.

I’ve had VERY few problems with my Ram. You’d be surprised at their improvements in quality.
My previous Fords were stone cold AWFUL
