I've seen guys do that before, the idea was so they could use it on different vehicles...
Kinda sucks having to use up bed space to haul it around though...

i hear ya. but equipping every tractor and vehicle and implement with a receiver hitch. can be costly if you do not know how to weld. and 3/4 of the time of to many times to count being stuck i would need power on the other vehicle/tractor, due to stuck vehicle already having problems of its own (most likely some sort of break down)
to many times i would have loved to have a portable winch. i do not need a super heavy 100lbs plus beast of a winch. but something i can man handle, when i am already dead tired, stressed out, slipping and sliding in mud/snow already, and most likely having my own sweat shower going on, or nearing point of frost bite.

for trailer 30 gallon sprayer i have. i rigged up regular 110v female and male connections. so i could use a generic 110v extension cord. between pump and battery connectors.
have used the sprayer on 6v tractor, and running sprayer off of a 12v deep cycle marine battery, to pulling it behind a blazer/suv, to a truck, to a riding lawn mower. and just tossing what ever extension cable i had nearby. between pump electrical connection. and running extension cord through windows and like all the way up to the front of pulling unit. and then swap alligator clips, to quick connects that might already have on vehicles battery.
other words most of them battery minders/chargers. end up having a little connector on the end, so you can swap different ends for the battery minder to connect to a battery. same idea. i just went 110v male/female connectors so i could use a regular 110v extension cord. and not have to worry about having a specific cable.
i am embarrassed to admit it. but the extension cord doing has worked, when needed as needed.
