How many does the US Navy operate? How safe are they?

How do the newer nuclear plants rate for pollution and required fuel. (There may be a case for smaller plants spread around )

The grid, it seems it may be in need of upgrading. Piecemeal replacement or a coordinated design that takes into account the location and type of produced power.

Do wind farms really take a lot of land out of agricultural production?

Energy storage, what's in the future or is the Periodic table going to halt any new developments? Biological batteries?

How will energy requirements be changed by techniques involving more efficient use?

Lots of questions. Well out of my limited ability to predict or resolve!

We have two on town land here in Fairhaven. We get $150000.00 a year for rental of the land and a percentage of the profits from power generation . Also free power for our waste water treatment plant.

There was a small group in town that fought them and also sued the town and developers. We live less than a mile from them and have found NO truth to 90% of what they said was going to happen.

I found that most of the anti group did not want THIER view to include turbines. My answer to that is pay the town and other tax payers in town for that view $150000.00 per year plus and then you call call it YOURS.

The one incident that did happen because of the turbines did bring up some new concerns but who could have seen this coming.

I can't help but feel just their marketing ability and reach is going to be rising the tide for everyone else, growing the overall market like very few players in such a market could ever hope to achieve without Tesla's presence.

DC transmission lines are nothing new.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. What I meant was it would be a totally new grid - not that DC transmission was totally new. Just more upfront cost but they are more efficient conductors.

Not bad at all for one of those "yestercities" I keep hearing about. $150,000 is a LOT of tax relief. Were Santa and his reindeer okay when you got them down?

Even if solar kW costs are the same as electric it still doesn't beat gas. Electric heating, water heater, and cooking are all beat by gas. It's not even close. Home solar electric for heat, water and cooking are going to have to be more than half of electric costs to beat gas. HS

Fracking for Natural Gas


Natural Gas NG enjoys a repuation of being a cleaner fossil fuel.
