Wins 1 million dollars and collects food stamps

I know of a guy that bost all the time about buying food stamps/ cards from other people that recieve them. He says he can buy $200.00 worth of food stamps/ cards for $150.00 & pays no taxes on the food he gets when using the stamps/cards

My issue with it is that they want to make it avaliable for EVERYONE.

Ok...some people may need it medically, but NOT EVERYONE. And even tehn, as you mention, it isnt that expensive.

Dont tell me a law student on a free ride cannot afford the pill. Hey, maybe cut out the fastfood EVERYDAY. Or drop the expensive data plan and smartphone. Or not buy a new pair of shoes every week. ETC. ETC. ETC.

If some TRULY needs the pill for other medical reasons......AND......TRULY cant afford them, then I have no problems.
Keywords in bold there:thumbsup: That doesnt mean you are poor and broke and a pack-a-day smoker (or whatever else NON-NECESSITY-EXPENSE) and want soemone else to foot the bill for your meds, food, whatever.

BUT...Sandra Fluke ET AL believe this should be for EVERYONE.:confused2: That it is somehow a "right".

Socialism is defined as the profits of the means of production are disbursed to the entire populace evenly. The only state where that happens is in Alaska with oil revenues. And Half Governor Palin increased this socialism greatly.

Dont get me wrong, I dont know ALL of the circumstances EVERY time AND I am ALL for helping those who CANT help themselves.

What I am against is helping those who WONT help themselves. I know there are many that need AND deserve the handout. But I think we ALL know that there are FAR too many that dont.

If you have seen the video, you realize the person who won the money will not have it for very long. To many people who win the money return to the same level within a matter of years. Sadly this will be the case here. She really was not faking anything with her answers. A million dollars will not make her any smarter.

Just for grins, let me play the devil's advocate. That gal who won the million will pay more in taxes than her entire food stamps ever cost. She's not really bright, but she's not freeloading on the system. She's paid her part and more.

Now, do I think they should punish/fine her for food stamp fraud? You bet! Just sayin'. . . think about it.

I am a retiree of the state department (DHS) here in Michigan that administers public assistance, and have been very vocal about the story in the local online newspaper. Although I never was a caseworker, my sister in law is, and I knew hundreds of other caseworkers during my long career.

Last spring, (2011) another public assistance client won lottery money and the Legislature here began the process of introducing bills that would require the state lottery to notify the Department of Human Services about lottery winners. According to the article printed in yesterday's newspaper, two bills have been passed but QUOTE:

"The work isn't finished yet..." !!!! Lawmakers all agree the bills should have been passed and made into law by now. The really ironic thing is, one lawmaker is quoted on the front page of the local news as saying, QUOTE:

"They (welfare recipients) want something for nothing......"

And I posted on the website of the local news, QUOTE:

"The worthless, pandering lawmakers have had a year to establish new laws that would require the lottery to inform DHS of winners that were collecting public assistance. Looks to me like the LAWMAKERS are the ones who want something for nothing...."

Whenever they want legislation to give themselves a pay raise or enhance their retirement benefits, it gets passed right away. The rest of the time, they have such a poor work ethic nothing ever gets done in a timely manner.

Don't blame the caseworkers of DHS, blame the worthless Legislature we have here.
