Winter Gloves/Mittens?

I wear Snow Mobile Mittens when it gets real cold. I was able to stay out 4 hours plus on the tractor in them last year. My limit is my feet. I have tried everything but good wool socks followed up by regular socks and good boots.

Chris

Try Sorrel boots from Canada, I've never been cold or wet in them. About 100 bucks a pair and they last.

Nope...the liners keep you warm quite a while after the leather gets wet.

Also, the leather will dry out and be good to use.

Unlike a lot of leather that dries, shrinks and cracks

Use Sno-Seal (brand name) on the leather and soak it in w a hair dryer. Never found a better waterproofer for leather. Just beware, it will darken the color of the leather (big deal !).

I think I have a can of that stuff around here somewhere.

Just move to South Texas and you will never need cold weather gloves.

Don't you have copperheads, scorpions, etc. I'll take the snow thanks! No poisonous snakes, ticks, chiggers or roaches the size of beer cans. Plus we get four seasons and a beautiful fall here with our own apple trees ripe with fruit. I used to think I'd like to retire to a warm climate but we have friends in warm climates that can't go into their gardens because they are too hot or full of ticks.

Lots of great ideas and I appreciate it. You guys are great and I appreciate the replies and the info! One thing I know for sure is that I will no longer skimp on my gloves/mittens! My poor fingers deserve better than they have been getting. :)

Good point. I find that a neck gaitor makes a huge difference in my overall warmth. It seals the updraft through your jacket.

Hire a neighborhood kid to shovel??

Tough to be cold when sitting next to the fireplace sipping hot chocolate

I like the light gloves inside mitts idea I will try myself
