JJ, I just recently checked into the welding classes at the local vocational school. I was a bit shocked by the welding class price. Most classes up there are pretty cheap but the welding class was a few hundred dollars. It's probably the same $/hr charge because I noticed the session had a lot of hours. I think it was 2 1.5 to 2 hr sessions a week for several weeks. Plus it probably needs to cover the expenses of the hands on materials.

I'm thinking about asking around at a local welding shop to see if I can pay a good welder to just spend some one on one time with me. That way I'd learn just about the kind of welding I'm looking to do and also learn on my own welder. Maybe even make a good connection for more complicated stuff I don't want to tackle and have a source for some material as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I started out putting my beverage holder beside the factory headlight position but when I would go through low hanging limbs and high weeds or spinning the wheels in the creek and such and I would see leaf or weed clippings or water splashed around my beverage can I decided that wasn't the place that I wanted mine I ended up getting a beverage holder like hangs in the glass channel on a car and hung it on the vertical cover on the center chanel in the deck of the pt. So far it has worked out well for me but I wouldn't say it is any better than where you put yours.

Toy, Actually I think that idea sounds better. If I'm picturing it correctly yours hangs down the side of the middle "console" where as my sits on top. Your idea would lower it by probably 4" to 5" so I wouldn't have to high step as bad getting on and off the tractor. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
