My keyboard and mouse are aftermarket. I did not get it with Dell but it is the same thing for the most part.

I may just help that bunny out for a while yet.

just sorta wondering, whats so great about a wireless mouse and keyboard. i understand stuff without cords is convenient, i love my cordless drill,my cell phone, and my gas sawzall, but these are all items you can use by themselves, thats what makes the advantage of no cord so nice. my computer on the otherhand is a different situation, say i have a wireless keyboard, yea i could carry it all over the house, and the mouse too, but they dont do me much good without the computer in front of me!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif i have never had the urge have my computer more than 2ft away from me realy, so the cord has never once restricted me in any way. i suppose the cordless mouse might be better cause the cord isnt in the way, not that i have ever had a problem with that realy, but a keyboard ya dont move around much so why would you want that wireless? i guess i just dont see the advantage, especialy since they take batteries, i got enough junk around here that takes batteries as it is!

It's nice having no cord on the mouse and sometimes with my keyboard I get lazy and lay back in my chair and put my feet up on the desk and type away. Especially if I am trying to get some report done for the bank or something like that. Even here on TBN I will do that.

Other than that, your right.

I have a wirless logitech on a 3yr old PC I built with XP. The mouse and key board I bought in 98 the mouse has been a track ball since 01. I bought the wireless track ball to replace the mouse for gaming on with my PC on my 35 in sony as a montior, while sitting in a Lazy boy(10ft +/- from the pc). Both are Logitech and well I can't recall for sure but i think I put new batteries in the key board over a yr ago and the track ball they last 6 mnths or so. I will on ocasion have to re-sinc them using the button in the mouse / TX/RX USB unit. That usualy means time for a battery soon. Also are you running the software for your divice from logitech? I use mine, because mine is a 5 button and I set the extras up for Back and enter. Great for surfing. But I also think it may send the signal to power down to the mouse. I know mine tells me when it needs a battery in either board or ball. I also use Rshack baterries if I can they last longer in MHOP. Thebest you could do would be buy 1.5v AA regargable batteries. They have a set of 4 with charger as sams for $20. I plan to buysome form y son's Thomas the CHOO! CHOO!... This week.

I don't know which "model" you have but my Logitech wireless mouse is great! Change batteries every 4-6 months... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
