Great for you

HOWEVER the tree stands in your pic looks like it needs a lot of work to keep chances of forest fire risk low and a LOT of work for thinning/trimming for form for later lumber production.

I would suggest you get yourself a forester ASAP go to you local DNR (department of natural resources) for state run/certified people. It will help you out a LOT in both game hunting and later $ from lumber/pulp & land improvement going forward.

Yeah I've already walked it with a forrester. Needs a thinnning and a burn. The pics are just around the old landing and are about the worst part of the place. I haven't taken any pictures of the better timber yet but it all needs thinned.
I want to walk it more and plan a couple of food plots in it, I have picked them out on topo map but want to walk it some more. Have it thinned and the two plots cut out in one operation. Pulpwood prices suck so it ain't going to be lucrative but might net enough to get some gravel and a few other odds and ends.
