citytransplant said:Yes, you are correct. Future use of the PHD was the sugar that made the medicine go down a bit easier. In addition, I got some cool pictures of the PHD mounted on my machine.
Women like my wife are few and far between. For example, she was up at 5 AM today to tend to the chores (horses, chickens, etc.) and bake fresh blueberry muffins and make coffee for me and for the work crew when they showed up a couple of hours later. She did this all before getting ready to head out for her 9 to 5 job. This is a typical day for her. She will come home tonight and mow the lawn after tending to the horses. I will be working late otherwise she would have dinner ready for me as well.
So, in regards to her offering up *our* tractor ... with the above said, I have learned that only a few transgressions on her part warrant me blowing my fuse. I learned a long time ago to choose my battles wisely. Although on the inside I was not a happy camper about this incident, after some grumbling on my part, I kept my mouth shut. In the entire scheme of things, it really is no big deal. Besides, I knew I could come to this board and vent to folks that can relate.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Seems there only a few people on this thread that get it. All this Chest Pounding stuff like "My Wife wouldn't dare", "No One Drives My Tractor But Me", My Wife knows Better than", "Hope you are taking some off the price", "This and that happened to my brothers wife's second cousin", "I wouldn't rent my tractor out for nothing" makes for humorous reading. And it sounds really good.
Just a shame that you missed Transplant's point. Not to worry my friend, a few of us got it. For him, he wouldn't trade his wife for anything, including some scuffed paint on his new tractor. I wouldn't either. I'm currently in Iraq and my wife cares for our 20 acre property using "our" two tractors. She emailed me a couple days ago with a breakdown problem including pictures. Before I could call her, she figured it out and fixed it. If she emailed me today and said she had loaned the tractor and it got broken, I would support her decision. Just like when I tell her I just spent more money on an attachment that she doesn't understand, she supports my decision.
For the women on here that got it and refrained from joining in on the Chest Pounding in retaliation, you are a testimony to the fact that there are some great women living our country lives. Women that participate in the decision making process and are supported in doing so. Women that deserve quiet support even when the decision might not be favorable to us. Women that give us way more than we give them. Fortunately for Transplant and myself we happen to be married to two of them!!!! For those of you that might not be so blessed, I'm sorry.
