LOL...motion is not thermal.

Bringing this scienterific diversion to better relate to TRACTORS....

Ask yourself, WHAT DOES A TURBO COMPRESSOR DO?

ANSWER

In the most fundimental expression, The impeller blades of the compressor add VELOCITY to the air molecules.
When those molecules are slowed, results in increased PRESSURE. (Bernoulli would show us that fast moving air molecules will actually Reduce pressure, and so lift airplane wings)

So all a turbo does, in simpe terms , is to add HEAT to the incoming charge.

Of course, if the heat is removed, and the pressure is maintained, that Means there are MORE air molecules in a given volume. If only we could increase the O2 percentage ... (Like NOx ;-)

So those stove fans work on the principle of a bi metal junction? Same as a temperature probe.

I want one that is a Sterling engine so I can SEE how it works ;-)

Radiant heat: energy particlues striking a solid object and transfering energy to that object.

Conduction: transfer of energy between objects in contact with each other. Always high to low.

Convection: energy being transported to other locations.

THE LOW PAY GRADE version
But radiant energy travels in WAVES, Riding on the ether! ;-)

Oh! Planck and all his bothersome quanta!!

Not to brag, (well maybe not ;-) BUT....

Since I was a lad in early manhood, I have held that "HEAT and Temperature are merely convenient measures of MOTION" . I've not heard or read of any other's describing it so, In that way I pride myself out of all proportion ;-)

And with that, "TIME is the ultimate measure of motion" Check in with any available ROCK for confirmation ;-)

The newest 100 percent wooden stove is guaranteed to burn 24 hrs. into a pile of ash. Just be sure to light it outside.

yep … well life is too short to educate myself on the matter but from reading you guys comment id give the point to Snobdds… my un educated reasoning say even if you have all three heat in the wood stove scenario the most dominant one is the radiant heat the two other are a result of the initial… but even if i am wrong i will sleep just like if i am right …

Factoid 1

Radiant heat is exchanged at the 4th power of the temperature difference (that in degrees Kelvin)

Factoid 2

Heat doesn't care what you think.

Factoid 3

Thermal chaos is inevitable. Entropy being what it is.

Factoid 4

Those little wood stove fans are a novelty, and nothing more.

Why is a 6” fan, with a medium pitch, at (say) 2000 rpm a novelty?

Nobody had quantified the different efficiencies of a fan drawing and blowing 72 degree air vs trying to move 300 degree air.
…or trying to blow 300 degree air into a 72 degree room.

Tell me more about this 4th power of temperature difference.
