Woodmaxx Snowblower Shear Bolts?

SUCCESS!!!! I only got 2 inches of new snow last night, but I was able to make 2 passes up and down my half mile gravel road without shearing one bolt!!! Forecast is calling for more snow tomorrow night and on Wednesday of next week, so I will see than if everything is good. I just have to wait now for my dealer to get my Hand accelerator Cable in so I can replace my broken cable and it will be easier to keep the RPMs up while driving backwards blowing snow. Again, I can not thank you all enough for your help and recommendations.

Great, glad you got it straightened out.

I'm glad it worked out.

For a Mod. It may pay to make a summary of the problem and solution included in this thread and stick it to the top of the list. I suspect there are quite a few individuals dealing with these same problems.

For what it's worth, I was getting only 2-3 hours of use on the grade 2 shearbolts. I've only broken two grade 5 bolts since learning from Woodmaxx that's what I should be using, and I got 4.7 and 11 hours on those respectively. I'd rather not have them break at all but my typical snow season is 20-30 hours of SB use so this is tolerable.

I'm in Michigan's Keweenaw peninsula and we have 262" of snow SO FAR this season. I'm running the SB72 on a 50hp Kioti. I'm using it exclusively at my house/farm but obviously this is more than light use.
